Educational Background
I have an Art Education Degree from Indiana State University. I also attended Ivy Tech and received a Photography and Graphic Design Degree. My goal as an art educator is to increase student motivation, build self-esteem, excite children to learn, to build an awareness and understanding of the arts, and to increase students overall educational success. A well-managed and disciplined art education program fosters a positive learning opportunity for all students, it is part of a well-rounded education, and allows for overall student success and well being. I believe in building community relations and parent/teacher communication, are also part of a strong art program. I am a member of art organizations on a national, state and regional level, including ISTA, NEA, NAEA and AEAI.
