I am originally from Clinton, Indiana, and I graduated from South Vermillion High School in 2012. After that, I attended Indiana State University as an English literature and education double major, eventually forgoing the latter to focus more on literature. Once I was out of graduate school, I became a teacher at Indiana State University in their English department with a part-time position at St. Mary-of-the-Woods for several years. It was in the wake of the pandemic and after having my daughter that I decided to venture into public education. I quickly fell in love with teaching middle school English, and I chose to work at Sarah Scott so that I could become a long-term part of an educational family in my local community. I live in Terre Haute with my husband, and we own and operate The TreeHouse of Terre Haute on ISU’s campus. I am also a local crochet artist, foster mother for the animal shelter, and a very passionate advocate for my students.
