Welcome to my website!

I am Mrs. Titus, and this will be my eleventh year teaching! I graduated from ISU with a degree in Elementary Education and minors in Reading and German. I also earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from ISU. I have taught both fourth and fifth grades, and I’m excited to teach third grade this year!

Social studies is my favorite subject, and my favorite part of the school day is when I get to read a chapter of our classroom book to the students.Tennis, pickleball, being with family, and drinking coffee are my favorite things to do! I have a 5 year old daughter,  2 year old son, and 4 month old son who keep me busy, but I also spend a lot of time preparing memorable lessons for my students!

My philosophy is that life is always more enjoyable when you have a positive mindset, and I encourage a positive attitude and outlook for my students every day. There is so much to learn and discover in third grade, and I am so excited to learn and discover with my Riley Racers!

We had a full week of learning and adjusting to our routines! In our GREEN Homework Folders, we added a purple paper with our Independent Reading checklist for this grading period. Ask your child to explain the expectations we discussed in class, and use the purple paper to help keep your child on track. The 2 reading forms and project are due October 8. Having a personal book to read and enjoy every day will greatly improve your child’s reading skills!

Also, I want to say how proud I am of our young 3rd graders for using their Student Planners to keep track of their assignments and for being so responsible with completing and returning their homework! I hope it has been helpful at home to see what your child has been learning. Multiplication can be tricky at first!

Next week, we will finish our science unit on monarch butterflies with a test and begin our social studies unit over directions, regions, and landforms. In math, we will continue to learn multiplication, and we’ll also have our first math test. We will also enjoy some nonfiction books with partners and in groups!
