Hello, my name is Angela Leslie.
I teach 2nd Grade at Fayette Elementary School.

Hometown: West Terre Haute, Indiana

College: B.S. Indiana State University – 1996

Teaching Experience: 22 years

I have been teaching at Fayette for 19 years after starting my career at Warren Elementary.

About My Classroom

My classroom is an open and caring environment.  It is a stimulating learning community where the students can feel safe to express their ideas and also listen and learn from each other.  The students in my classroom are expected to be respectful to each other and to work hard every day. 

My Educational Philosophy 

I always challenge my students to reach their full potential.  I know that every child is gifted in their own way.  Consequently, I am focused on helping each student to progress at their level toward a goal.  I want every child who leaves my classroom to be better prepared to become a life-long learner.

8:30 – 10:00 –        Language Arts Block/Daily 5 Stations

10:00 – 11:00 –      Everyday Math

11:00 – 11:15 –      Spelling and Grammar

11:15 – 11:55 –      Lunch/Recess

11:55 – 12:15 –      Read Aloud and Writing

12:15 – 12:55 –      Encore Special Class

1:00 – 1:45 –          Enrichment I/E – Reading/Math

1:45 – 2:30 –          Science/Health/Social Studies

2:40 –                    Dismissal

Grading Scale

This year is a big change in the way your student will be given grades.  In 2nd grade, we will now be giving a D letter grade for below average work.  Please see below for the grading scale all 2nd graders in Vigo County use:

95 – 100 – A

94 – 90  – A-

89 -87   – B+

86 – 83  – B

82 – 80  – B-

79 – 77 –  C+

76 – 73 –  C

72 – 70  – C-

69 – 67  – D+

66 – 63  – D

62 – 60  – D-

59 – 0   –  N
