What can I do to protect my family’s health?
You can take simple steps to prevent illness. Building healthy habits will also help protect against other contagious illnesses.
-
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
-
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
-
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands.
-
Limit contact with people who are actively sick with coughing, sneezing and other symptoms.
-
Stay home from school and work when sick. If your child has a fever of 100.4° F [37.8° C] or greater using an oral thermometer and/or other illness symptoms, they should not come to school. Please refer to the Covid-19 symptom flowchart for K-12 on when to keep your child home and get tested for Covid-19.
