Biography:

Personal:

I am originally from Northwest Ohio (Defiance/Paulding County area) where I was raised by two amazing educators/administrators.  My parents taught me the importance of servant leadership in both your school and community, and I'm honored followed in their footsteps as a teacher and administrator.  I was blessed to have found a home in Miami county shortly after graduating college when I moved to Troy in 2003.  I lived here from 2003 to 2007 until my husband and I married and moved to Dayton.  In 2011, we moved back to Miami county and lived in Bethel township until 2018.  It was finally time to find a forever home, so in 2018, we moved back to Troy with our sons, Hudson (born in 2013) and Carson (born in 2015).  We chose to come back to Troy because we have always loved this community and wanted our boys to grow up in this great hometown.  Shortly after moving back to Troy, I was fortunate enough to be hired by Troy City Schools and I feel blessed and honored to be able to work, and raise my family, here in Troy.

Education:

For my undergraduate work, I first attended Ball State University and majored in Exercise Science & Wellness from 1998 - 2000, but I soon discovered that I had really wanted to be a teacher all along, so I transferred back home and finished my Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences Education, Gr 7-12, at Defiance College, graduating in May of 2003.

While teaching, I went back to graduate school to earn my Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton in 2010.  I continued on at UD to complete my Principal's Licensure, Gr 4-8 and 7-12, in 2013.

Teaching/Administrative Experience:

I started my teaching career in 2003 at Tippecanoe High School where I taught Biology & Anatomy & Physiology from 2003 - 2014.  While at Tipp, I also coached Freshman, JV, and Varsity volleyball from 2003 - 2013.  I also served as Prom advisor and Student Senate advisor for several years throughout my time at Tipp.  In 2014, I took the opportunity to help create a new Middle School at Bethel Local Schools, becoming their middle school principal from 2014 - 2018.  Then, shortly after moving our family to Troy, I was given the opportunity to work for Troy City Schools at Troy High School.  After serving as an Assistant Principal for five years, I became the Principal at Troy High School in 2023. It is truly an honor and blessing to work for such an amazing district, to serve this community, and to raise our family as part of the Trojan Family.

GO TROJANS!
