Staff Profile

Kristi Ward
Hello, welcome to 2nd grade! My name is Mrs. Kristi Ward. I earned my Masters in Early Childhood Education in 2004 from the University of Dayton. I have been teaching since August of 2004, and I have been a part of the Troy City Schools system since August of 2007. I love working here at Concord Elementary because the staff and families are an amazing team, striving to do what is best for students! My fellow teachers strengthen me every year, and my families and students remind me why I love teaching!
Outside of school, I enjoy being with my family. I am married to Mark, who also works in a school system. We have three very active boys who make life busy and very fun! I also love traveling with my family and learning new things everywhere we go!
My philosophy in teaching is that every child deserves an environment that fosters learning according to each child’s potential. I also feel that learning in a school setting involves not only academics, but also social awareness, organization, respect, and citizenship. I feel that it is very important for me to get to know each child’s strengths and learning needs so that I can help each child to be successful. I take each child’s success very seriously and believe in teaching to all learning styles and abilities. I also feel that communication with the families of my students is very crucial to a child’s success, in all areas of development, and have an open door policy when it comes to the families of my students. I enjoy getting to know all the families of my students. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please contact me by phone or email! Thank you for your support!
