My name is Ty Mercer. I have worked in the Troy City School district for 18 years. All of those have been here at Concord and in fifth grade. I currently teach Reading to all fifth graders. I truly enjoy working with young people and still get lots of satisfaction when I see a student have one of those “light bulb” moments when they grasp a challenging concept. I’ve been very fortunate to work with a great team of fifth grade teachers, supportive administrators, and caring parents. I enjoy playing golf and strumming the guitar (at times I will play and sing for my students)! I’m married to Mrs. Mercer who teaches fourth grade here at Concord Elementary. We have two amazing children that we enjoy spending most of our time with.
