Staff Profile

My name is Kristi Drake and I have been teaching for the Troy City Schools since 1992.  I have been at Concord for all but one of those years.  I graduated from Troy High School in 1987 and earned my bachelor’s degree in Education from Mount Vernon Nazarene College (now University) in 1991. I earned my Master’s degree in Reading from The University of Dayton in 1998. I am certified to teach K-8, with a specialization in English and my Reading Endorsement.  I love teaching the primary grades, where most children find learning fun and they are so enthusiastic about school! It is rewarding to see the smiles on their faces when they understand a new concept or experience something for the first time. It has been a wonderful experience to grow up attending Troy City Schools, teach in Troy, and watch my children as they go through the same system. We are very lucky to have a school system that is so good and supports the best interest of the students they way our system does. My husband Steve was born and raised in Troy and I have lived here since I was 7. Our blended family includes two sons, five daughters, and twelve grandchildren. We love living in Troy and spending time with our children and grandchildren, all of who live close.
