Hi, I'm Audra Houtchens and I am a 3rd grade teacher here at Double Peak. This is my 11th year teaching in the San Marcos School District and look forward to many more. I am an educator who is passionate about her job and hope it's evident through my dedication to creating a safe, fun and engaging classroom environment. I am looking forward to an amazing year ahead filled with opportunities to grow socially, emotionally and academically.

I was born and raised in Southern California and absolutely love where I live. I earned my degree at Cal State San Marcos and had the opportunity to complete my student teaching within our district. I love the outdoors and you will soon see that camping and hiking are an absolute passion of mine. The classroom is my happy place, but running for a close 2nd is traveling the world. I have been to several countries and am looking forward to exploring many more with my sweet boy, Emmitt. Spending time with family and friends is also extremely important to me, like many of you would probably agree. Some of you may already have been told by previous students, but I sure do love coffee,Target and creating special bonds with each and every student that comes through my classroom.
Now that you know a little more about me, I look forward to learning more about your family over the school year. I can't wait to begin this journey with you.
