I proudly teach at Double Peak School. I was hired in the San Marcos Unified School District in 1996, teaching 3rd, 6th, 2nd, and 4th grades at Woodland Park and Twin Oaks Elementary Schools. I then became a stay-at-home mom for our 4 daughters for the next 10 years. I returned to teaching at San Elijo Elementary School and Richland Elementary School when our youngest started TK. I moved to DPS as a 3rd-grade teacher when a position became available in February 2018. I switched to 5th grade the following school year where I have been since except for the 22-23 school year when I taught a 4-5 combo class.
All of our children started with Double Peak School when it opened. The youngest two are currently at San Marcos High School. Our oldest daughter graduated from SMHS in June 2022 and is attending Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. Our second daughter graduated from SMHS in June 2024 and is taking classes at Palomar College.
My husband of 28 years and I have lived just down the street in San Elijo Hills since May 2005. We spend our free time with our extended families in North County.
I was born and raised in nearby Escondido, and I am one of 10 children including a twin sister. I graduated from San Pasqual High School before earning my Education degree and teaching credential from the University of San Diego. I later completed my Master's degree in Education.
