Brindizi Hamblin is truly one of a kind. Her creativity, dedication, and compassion are evident in everything she does, and her students clearly adore and appreciate her. It’s obvious that she invests significant time and effort into her teaching, always striving to improve and adapt to meet students’ needs. What makes her especially remarkable is her ability to take innovative ideas and turn them into effective practices in the classroom. We are incredibly fortunate to have Brindizi as part of our team at Sugar-Salem Junior High!

Mrs. Ricks is loved by her students. She possesses an innate ability to foster creativity and artistic expression in them regardless of their initial skill level. As the only art teacher in the school, she is asked to wear many hats and excels at whatever challenge is given to her. She creates inspiring and challenging curriculum with limited resources.

Mrs. Ricks is one of the school’s most popular teachers and her classes are always at capacity. She creates an inclusive and encouraging environment in her classroom where every student feels valued and capable of artistic achievement. She takes the time to understand every students strengths, weaknesses, and individual goals.

Outside of the classroom, Melissa consistently goes above and beyond her teaching duties. She has been instrumental in organizing art exhibitions for her students each trimester where they can showcase their talents. She also organizes and teaches community art workshops to promote the arts in our area. These initiatives not only highlight the artistic achievements of our school but also promote a sense of pride and unity within the community. We are so grateful to have Mrs. Ricks in our school.

Teachers who make a difference: Janice Olson

Janice Olson is an amazing teacher.  She grew up the daughter of a teacher and decided to be an interior designer or travel agent… we are so glad those options didn’t work out.  Her classroom is so organized and is decorated cute.  Her students work as a team and have a great time learning every day.  Her students and their parents love her as a teacher and they appreciate the progress the kids all make as a first grade student in Mrs. Olson’s class where they are loved and safe.  Thank you for all you have done since 1993 in our school Mrs. Olson.

Mrs. Geisler Makes a Difference

Jennifer Geisler started teaching at Sugar Salem briefly as a 5th grade teacher and then soon made the move to be part of our great first grade team. In her 26 years teaching she has helped her students to know how to read, be organized, and love learning. She loves to garden, motorhome on vacation, and spend time with family. She loves, loves her students. Thank you, Mrs. Geisler, for “Making a Difference”!

Students have said…

“Mrs. Geisler helps everyone to be nice.”

“She has fun activities at free time.”

“Mrs. Geisler makes great things for her class.”

“I like Mrs. Geisler, She is sooooo nice.  She lets us choose things to do if we get our work done.”
