LEADERSHIP & ADVENTURE
In collaboration with WSU 4-H extension, we utilize the 4-H Adventure Challenge Curriculum, which stresses teamwork, inclusion, and leadership while promoting a solid work ethic and reflections skills.
Crew leaders are trained to evaluate their crews and select appropriate challenges based on the needs of the crew, and finally how to facilitate and debrief the activity so that learning and growth can take place.
Experiential learning is not limited to the challenge activities. Instead, it is a philosophy and method of learning that can be applied to all aspects of the program. Whether out on the trail, in the van traveling to a project site, or in the classroom, the "Do-Reflect-Apply" components are applied. The goal is that all participants will take this powerful learning tool and use it beyond Forest Youth success.
