Goalkeeper Haley Butler played exceptional between the pipes with a handful of amazing saves that kept the Cougars alive moving into the second half. As they have been all season, the Cougar back line was consistent and played smart defense stopping many crosses and attempts on goal. Moving into the second half, it was the midfield that began to shine. Isabelle Beaulieu, Sam Grodovich, and Emerson Iacovelli stood apart from the JFK defense and as the trio countlessly drove passes into the offensive half.

- Good morning TE! It's great to see so many people dressed in orange today! Some of you may be wondering "why orange"? Well, wearing orange means you are supporting a school and community that will accept and respect each other and we will NOT tolerate any teasing or bullying. This day is a reminder that, despite our differences, we should be treating each other with respect and kindness. We all don't have to be best friends, but we do owe each other the respect of being kind and accepting. So try to be mindful of how other people might be feeling. Maybe invite someone to sit with you if they are alone or say a kind word to a classmate or peer. Let's all join together and support the fact that, although we may not all be the same, we should be accepting each other for who and what we are. Have a GREAT day!
- So awesome to see everyone showing their team spirit yesterday at the Walk-A-Thon! Hope you all remembered to wear orange today to support unity in our TE Community! And tomorrow, we all get to chill out in our comfy/cozy outfits. Just remember, no blankets or stuffed animals please.
- Attention all students interested in being part of the cast or crew of this year's Entertainers production of Aladdin - there will be an informational meeting after school on Monday, November 4th in the auditorium. We’ll be declaring the individual, team and grade winners after the close of the pledge period next week. In the meantime, Brayden Childree is the top fundraiser so far for the 6th grade, Brock Kelly is in the lead for 7th grade, and Tim Bortolan is still in the lead for 8th. The Sage Team currently has the overall lead for the pizza party and 6th grade is in the top spot for earning the ice cream social! There’s still one week left, so keep up the great work! - The girls cross country team maintained undefeated status against their toughest competition yesterday, beating Tolland 24 to 33 and East Hartford 15 to 50 wrapping up their regular season with 10 wins and 0 losses. It was a big victory for the TE girls, who have been close other seasons, but unable to beat Tolland until last night's win. Shennyn Giannelli earned her 5th 1st place finish of the season completing the 2 mile run in 13:38. 5 TE girls joined Shennyn in the top 10, including Taylor Lord coming in 5th for TE and 9th overall without choking on her own saliva during the race. Fantastic, Taylor! Shout out to Ishaal Bukhari for a great finish yesterday, and for her spirit in recognizing excellence in others this season. Sophia Gordon looked strong during one of her best races of the season as did Grace Smith, who pushed herself and the team with her words of wisdom, "Everyone is essential to victory." Good luck at your league meet this Monday, Cougars!!
- The boys cross country team wrapped up their regular season meets by earning 2 more victories on Monday afternoon. Aidan Walsh led the Cougars with the third place finish, with 5 other TE runners in the top 10, sealing the 22 to 37 win over Tolland and the 20 to 43 victory over East Hartford. Owen Jerr and Will Carty also ran strong races, coming in well ahead of their average times on a tough Tolland course. The successful afternoon wraps up the undefeated 10 and 0 season for the boys. The team travels to Manchester next Monday to try and win back the league championship trophy.
- The Cougars drove to Ellington for the last game of the regular season yesterday afternoon. The game was competitive as both sides created opportunities in the first half. Close chances on goal came from Catherine Downes, Arden Samson, and Emerson Iacovelli. Late in the first half, Cassie Polansky shot the ball off the bar which inched over the goal line bringing the score to 1-0. In the second half, the Cougars were persistent and totaled 27 shots, but couldn’t seem to find the back of the net. Exceptional play was had throughout the second half from Christianna Macchi, Ashley Zanelli, Mia Ruiz, and Sam Roux in the midfield. The Cougars defense with supported by Haley Butler who played well, and totaled 14 saves on the day. Despite the Cougar dominance of the game, Ellington rallied back with less than a minute and was able to put in a goal bringing the final score to 1-1. The Cougars end the regular season with a record of 7 wins, 1 loss, and 3 ties. The Cougars look forward to playoffs next week!

- The TEMS boys soccer team played once again last week taking on the Sage Park Chargers of Windsor. The game was back and forth in the first half, however, the Cougars were up at the half with a lovely strike from Jake Gattuso, which was assisted by Drew Monteserin. Gattuso returned the favor in the second half, feeding Monteserin who finished calmly in front of net. The final goal of the game came through Lucas Robinson who was opportunistic in front of the goal and poked his chance home past the Sage Park keeper. The defense was solid all night, as Erik Montes de Oca, Alex Ezedine, Chris Maio and several others kept the clean sheet. TE plays their third and final game of the week today after school, weather permitting. Please come out and cheer on the undefeated boys soccer team if you get a chance.
- The TEMS girls traveled to Sage Park and battled the Chargers in a cold and rainy match. The Chargers struck first with a fast breakaway putting the Cougars on their heels in the opening minutes of the match. However the lead was short-lived, as Arden Sansom scored off an assist from Leighana Ferrabelo. Isabelle Beaulieu added to the score sheet with a lefty strike and a clinical PK off a foul drawn my Mia Ruiz. In the second half, Julia Jaworski and Ava Hapkewicz led the Cougar attack with exceptional passing despite the difficult weather. The sister’s Roux combined for a goal as Sam Roux passed to Katelyn Roux for a clinical strike bringing the score to 4-1. In the remaining minutes of the game, Cassie Polansky and Katelyn Roux added 2 additional goals bringing final to 6-1. The Cougars look forward to their third game of the week tomorrow at East Hartford.
- The boys cross country team was unable to beat the rain last Wednesday afternoon, but they did come home with another victory. Aidan Walsh took the overall victory, followed closely by Max Plunske who took it out strong and was rewarded with a second place finish. Evan Czaja continued to race well with a 6th place finish, helping TE to the 15-50 win over Sage Park. Travis Willcox finished strong for a top 12 placement and Matthew LeBlanc kicked it in for a top 15 finish as the Cougars took 14 of the top 15 spots. The team looks to finish off their regular season undefeated next Monday when they travel to Tolland.
- Attention all TE students: The Outdoor Education Club has two more fall trips coming up. On October 23rd we will do a hike on Case Mountain in Manchester, and on November 6th we'll hike at Valley Falls Park in Vernon. To get a form, stop by the main office, or see Mr. Wilkinson in room 112 or room 258, or see Ms. Nelson in room 251.
- The girls cross country team held strong to their undefeated streak with their 8th win Wednesday against Sage Park with a score of 15 to 49. It was the best team finish of the season with a pack of TE runners crossing the finish in 1st through 5th place all within 12 seconds of one another. The fab 5 pack included Shennyn Giannelli, Molly Caron, Maddie Syme, Izzy Carpenter, and Riley Baker. Many of the girls made gains within team standings including Brooke Stapleton who finished in the top 10 for TE, and Lilliana Fraize and Rachel Richard who were on fire as they sprinted to the finish neck & neck. Prisha Thomas looked strong as she ran a great time considering just coming off an injury. The girls will face Tolland, their toughest opponent, this Monday for their final dual meet of the season. Let's see what you are made of, cougars! Good luck!!
