  • The TE girls soccer team hosted their second game of the season versus Illing last Friday. Marybeth Grasso led the team with an early goal in the first 10 minutes of play which proved to be all that the Cougars needed. While the Cougar's secured a healthy victory, Illing made a handful of offensive efforts that kept the Cougars on edge. Maria Galley stayed strong between the goal posts making a spectacular breakaway save with her feet that sent the fans to their feet. Haydin Courtois, Rhianna O'Meara, and Taryn Suffish effectively threaded through balls to the wings keeping the Illing defense at bay. However, it was ultimately the scrappy plays from Marybeth Grasso that propelled the Cougars to the victory as she found the back of the net three more times bringing the tally to 4-0. Following up on the offensive end, Lexi Lilly, and Sarah Gordon demonstrated outstanding physical play with great support from wingback's Leighanna Ferrabello, Megan Martin, and Ellinor Edstrom. The Cougar's host their next game today at 3:30 against Kennedy Middle School. Come out and support the team!
  • The field hockey team won its first game by a score of 2-0.  Anna Kim started the scoring with an assist from Kelli Mann.  In the second half Kayden Burke fired a shot off a rebound from the goalies pads to secure the win.  Ria Saxena and Sophia Guerrera were credited with the shutout.
  • In the second game, the lady cougars came up short by a score of 1-0 with only seconds left in the game.  Alexis Dabrowski, Abby Bergstrom, Grace Rich, and Tori Jarvis played extremely well.  TE's next game is today, away vs Stafford.

  • The boys cross country team notched their first win of the season on Friday afternoon, with a commanding 16 - 47 victory over Illing Middle School.  Kyle Sullivan took the overall victory, leading the team as TE took 10 of the top 11 spots.  Nikhil Kikanamada and Jacob Beaulier both ran great races to finish in the top 4 and Daniel Hegi powered in for a top 10 finish running almost a minute faster from his season best. The breezy and warm afternoon did nothing to slow down Jude Gonzalez as he took over a minute off his time from last meet.  The team will be back on the home course on Friday against some very good competition at the Harry Geraghty invitational.
  • Congratulations to the girls cross country team on their first victory Friday of 23 to 38 against Illing of Manchester.  Coming in 1st place of 49 runners was Audrey Manning with a time of 14:34.  Emma Lord broke into the top 5 of TE runners taking 39 seconds off her time from Tuesday finishing the race in 6th place.  Also looking strong was Amanda Walsh who set a goal to finish in the top 30, completing the race in 23rd with a 46 second personal best.  Aleena Shah had a great day, running over 3 minutes faster than her last time.  The performance of the meet was made by 6th grader Morgan Caron who took an astounding 4 minutes and 16 seconds off her time moving up from 31st on the team to 17th.  Great job to all runners!  The girls look forward to the Harry Geraghty invitational meet this Friday against several middle school teams from around the state.  Best of luck to both teams!!
  • The TE boys soccer team traveled to Manchester on Friday night and came away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the illing Rams. The first half was exciting and even, with both teams scoring in the opening frame. AJ Faust, hit a fire cracker of a shot, from the left side of the goal, opened the scoring for TE. The wind played a major role in the game, however the cougars were able to capitalize late in the second half. A fine turn from Bryan Fishman in the Box led to the final tally of which he slotted into the side-netting. Alex magarian played great defensively as did Jaideep Naik, Andrew Bell, Xavier Crane and Faust. Sam Meleshenko created havoc up top, while the other cougars pressed forward to get the game-winning goal. Up next, another away contest against JFK of Enfield on Tuesday.
  • Today for lunch... In the Create line you can have Tangerine Chicken. In the Grill line you can have Meatball Sub and in the On the Go line you can have your choice of Deli Sandwiches. Have a great day, do your best, and remember to always strive for 5!

  • It’s so great to be back with all of you!  I’m here this morning to talk about our first “It’s A Great Day” event.  As you know, on Friday, September 15th the entire school will take part in a series of events that encompass our Strive for Five core values while having a lot of fun.  The morning will be spent on team while the afternoon will incorporate various games and activities in which you can select to participate.  You will have lunch in the cafeteria, however the only selections for lunch will include: Hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers.  You will use your POS account or cash to pay for the lunch.  Of course, if a barbecue isn’t your thing, you can certainly bring your own lunch.  Right after today’s announcements, your teachers will share the afternoon activity selections with you.  Please choose your first and second choice. There are many fun things to choose from like baking, Lego robotics, create your own podcast,Pilates, tie dye tee shirts, woodworking, wiffleball, and yoga to name a few.  I myself might try nail painting.  Don’t forget to submit your t-shirt designs by Monday because we will reveal the t-shirt design winner during “It’s a Great Day”.  As always, stay positive, do your very best and STRIVE FOR FIVE!
