• Last night the Lady Cougars took on Vernon Center Middle School and came away with the resounding 58-18 victory.  Once again, a slow start plagued the Lady Cougars, but they pulled it together in the second half and ran away with it in the end.  Olivia Dzubin led all scorers with 11 points, while 6th grader Leighton Edwards set a career high with 10 points on the night. Elise Glunt and Emily Keegan had strong second quarters and TE's sensational 6th graders put the game away in the fourth.  Edwards led the scoring in the fourth with six, while Harper Kelly, Emma Rutkauskas, and Mia Leroy had four, two and two points respectively.  TE plays host to Sage Park of Windsor today after school.  Come out and cheer on the undefeated Lady Cougars.

• Attention all D&D matinee students, please note there will be no D&D matinee today after school.  We will instead meet tomorrow, Thursday the 23rd at the usual time and place.  Please take your regular bus home today.

• Attention all Band Members, all of Mr. Marci’s lessons have been cancelled for today.  Please remain in your regular encore classes.  If you have band class today, please be sure to bring your Chromebook and headphones with you as you will have an assignment that needs to be completed. The jazz combo for after school today has been cancelled. Please go home on your regular bus.

• Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Thursday, January 16.

• Attention JAMM students, our first meeting and practice session is TODAY after school. Not sure if you were accepted to JAMM? Check your email! There you will find information about your acceptance and the first meeting. If you have any questions, reach out to Ms. Carver.

• The boys basketball team traveled to Tolland Wednesday to play Tolland Middle School. The Cougars started strong with their pressure defense helping the boys get out to a 20-4 lead in the first quarter.  The Cougars never looked back and cruised to a 57-26. The boys play Vernon Middle School on Tuesday at home as they look to improve on their 4-0 record.

• The Lady Cougars were back in action last night taking on the Tolland Falcons in yet another CRAL matchup.  It was the Lady Cougars who came out on top with the 41-22 victory.  Elise Glunt lead all scorers with 12 points while Emily Keegan added eight in the win.  Olivia Dsubin made two three for six points, while Emmi Tushe had four, Harper Kelley also had four, Maddie Carpernter added three, Emma Rutkauskas and Raegan Burnham both chipped in two a piece.  Once again, after a sluggish first quarter, in which TE only lead by one after one, The Lady Cougars stepped up their defensive intensity and exploded with a 16-2 run and a third quarter lead of 33-12.  TE slowed it down a little in the end allowing the Lady Falcons back in the game slightly, but still cruised to the victory quite easily.  Up next, the Lady Cougars travel to Vernon and take on VCMS.  Good luck ladies.

• The Lady Cougars traveled to East Hartford last night and came away with the 46-29 victory over the Falcons.  The game was hotly contested, however, TE pulled away in the third quarter and never looked back.  Leading the Lady Cougars with career scoring games were Olivia Dzubin with 11 and Emmi Tushe with 9 points. Emily Keegan, Raegan Burnham  and Elise Glunt chipped in six, while Maddie Carpenter, Ali Kupec and Deeksha Reddy added three, three and two points respectively.  TE added to their insurmountable lead in the third period with relentless defensive pressure.  East Hartford was unable to handle their press as TE finished on a 12 - 5 run.  TE never looked back and they put the game away in the fourth quarter.  Up next, the Lady Cougars play after school today against Tolland.  Come out and cheer out the ladies. 

• The Timothy Edwards boys basketball team knocked off East Hartford Middle School 55-45 at home yesterday afternoon. After a very close first half, the Cougars used at 21 point third quarter to help secure the win. A balanced offense and the Cougars pressure defense led to the victory. The boys move to 4-0 and travel to Tolland today.

• Attention all Jump Start students – please remember that the program is not scheduled for this afternoon, so take your regular transportation home. Again, Jump Start will not be held today.

• Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, January 10.

• The boys basketball team traveled to Granby on Thursday and came away with a 60-38 win.  The Cougars had 31-22 lead at half but a 17-4 run in the third quarter helped secure the victory. A well balanced scoring attack including the team hitting 7 threes as well as the pressure defense stifling the Granby offense lead to the big second half lead.  The boys are 3-0 and take on Illing Middle School from Manchester at home on Monday. 

• The Lady Cougars continued their winning ways last night, beating the Granby Bears 46-14.  Although it was not a CRAL league contest, the Lady Cougars sure treated it that way.  Relentless half court defense in the first quarter guided TE as they sprang to at 21-4 lead.  All five starters scored in the period, Olivia Dzubin led the quarter with five points while Maddie Carpenter entered off the bench and chipped in four.  TE took their foot off the gas in the second quarter and sat back in a 2-3 zone, though the Bears couldn't get much going in that quarter.  Both teams settled for four points each and the half time score was 25-8.  The second half TE kept the petal slightly to the metal and 35-14 lead after three.  Harper Kelly, Eliana Beakal and Emma Ruthauskas played tough "D" all night and they chipped in four, three and three points respectively.  The final score proved the Lady Cougars dominated in all aspects of the game.  Next week, the Lady Cougars have three games in a row, but I think they will be ready for the challenge.  Good job ladies.

• The TEMS Winter After School Matinee will begin next week!  Cartooning Club, K-Pop Club and Ready, Set, Action will be held on Monday, 1/13.  Please plan to take the late bus home or have a parent/guardian pick you up at 4:00pm. There are still some openings for certain matinees.  See Mrs. Stewart in the office if you are interested!!

• Alright, Cougars! It’s time to announce our winners of CougarTHON’s PJ day raffle! As a reminder, our winners will get to choose between free entry to the volleyball tournament this month or the dance in February, both of which are hosted by CougarTHON. • JAMM (Just About Making Music) is a brand new after school club for TE's Music Matrix students in grades 6-8. If you're interested in exploring electric guitar, ukulele, keyboard, electric bass, and drum set while working together to arrange and perform music, apply now! • Attention MATHLETES: Registration is now open for the AMC-8 Test. This incredibly challenging timed test is open to all interested TEMS students.  Use Classroom Code: zrgtcrf to get additional details. The AMC-8 test will be administered on Friday January 24, 2025 during school in the TEMS Cafeteria. Sign up today!!

• Attention all 7th graders! Get ready to dance the night away in a white-out Winter Wonderland dance on January 10th! There will be great music, a selfie booth and winter-themed face painting. Tickets cost $10 and will be on sale after winter break from your homeroom teacher.
