- In girls basketball news, the undefeated Lady Cougars opened the CRAL tournament semi-final round with a game against the Windsor Locks Wildcats last night. The game was hotly contested in the first half with TE leading 20-7 at the intermission. The Lady Cougars gained their early lead by attacking the rim and getting fouled which led to numerous free throws. TE converted 14 points off free throws in the first half alone. In fact, TE's strong defense held the Wildcats to 0 points in the second quarter which gave the Lady Cougars the halftime advantage. In the second half, TE was tested by a strong Wildcat press, as Windsor Locks won the quarter by four points. In the fourth, the Lady Cougars revisited their regular season dominance by winning the quarter 12-4 thus securing the victory, 42-25. Leading the Lady Cougars was Elise Glunt with 11 points on the night. Both Emily Keegan and Emmi Tushe finished with nine points, while Maddie Carpenter added seven on the night. Leighton Edwards, Raegan Burnham and Ali Kupec rounded out the scoring with two points each. "It was a great result for the ladies tonight," Coach Chandler said. "The team has worked hard all season and it all comes down to one game. They are ready, they are hungry and I can't wait to see how they perform on Monday," Coach Chandler added. Monday marks the last game of the season and hopefully the TEMS faithful will pack the house to show their support. Congratulations ladies and good luck in the final on Monday.

- Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Friday, February 7.
- In girls basketball news, the TEMS Lady Cougars finished their regular season on Wednesday beating Suffield 38-26. With the victory, TE secured the number one seed in the CRAL tournament, and go into the tournament with an undefeated record at 12-0. Eleven of the fourteen players scored for TE with no player scoring more than six points on the night. A balanced scoring attack has been the M-O of the Lady Cougars all season. Different players step up on different nights. On Wednesday, Olivia Dzubin led all scorers and both her buckets were on three pointers. TE exploded in the first quarter finally, jumping out to a 16-4 lead after the first. Suffield gained some traction in the second closing the gap but still trailed 22-14 heading into the second half. A slow quarter in the third saw TE extend it's lead thirteen. The bucket seemed to have a lid on it as TE had trouble scoring around the rim, especially in the third. In the fourth, both teams traded buckets for most of the quarter and TE saw out the game in the end. "It's been a great season thus far," Coach Chandler said. "Being undefeated heading in to the playoffs is an accomplishment in it of itself...but that doesn't mean we've won anything. The second season starts now and we are looking forward to finishing the season strong," he added. TE will host the semi finals on Tuesday after school with the winner of that game taking on the winner of the other semi-finalist. Good luck ladies and go win that championship.
- Out of the Blue will meet after school on Monday, February 10 in room 222. Please bring your Chromebook and the submission you have been working on. Ms. Olsen looks forward to seeing you there.
- Attention all Band Members, all of Mr. Marci’s lessons have been cancelled for today. Please remain in your regular encore classes. If you have band class today, please be sure to bring your Chromebook and headphones with you as you will have an assignment that needs to be completed.
