  • On Friday, the Boys Track team traveled to Tolland for their final away meet of the season.  The boys put all their hard work at practice on display, dominating Tolland 84-19.  The combination of Will Campbell, Jacob Pflederer, Makai Payne, and Ethan Hunt helped to sweep both the Shot Put and Discus.  The 4x100 team of Sonit Shah, Holden Crane, Trestan Calloway, and Kyden Merlin tore up the track and finished in 1st.  Kyden also won the 100 and 200 meter sprints, while breaking into the TE Top Ten with a time of 11.8 in the 100 meter dash.  Impressive!  Matt Habeeb, Mathias Baidoo, and Noah Gransinger swept the High Jump and all of them qualified for states on their final jump! Trestan Calloway, Shawn Baidoo, and Naol Tirfessa swept the 55 meter Hurdles, with Trestan running a blistering 9.8 seconds. Sonit Shah took 1st in the 400 in an amazing race and Nivaen Giritharan won the 800!  The 4x400 team of Nivaen, Ethan, Holden and Beckham Mills also won their race. There were many other outstanding performances, all of which helped the boys team claim their 2nd victory of the season.  The boys have their final track meet of the season on Monday against Ellington at South Windsor High School.  Come out and show your support!  Go Cougars!

  • Congratulations to the girl's track team on their third victory of the year!  The team's hard work and determination helped them defeat Tolland with an 80 to 16 win!  The first event of the meet started off strong, with Kashish Kodnaney, Peyton Bennett, and Sadhana Ganesan taking 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places in the hurdles.  Izzy Carpenter took first place in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:56, just missing TE's Top 10 by 3 seconds.  The 6th-grade powerhouse of Emery Forko and Natalie Czop brought in 1st and 2nd place wins in both the 100 and 200-meter run.  High jumpers, Makayla McGrath and Caroline Cavanaugh took first and second place jumping 4'4".  8th grader, Rachel Turer, dominated her throwing events.  She took first place in both the shot put and the discus.  Not only that, but Rachel now holds the TEMS 7th All-Time Throwing Distance for both events.  Rachel threw 75'8" in the discus and 30'9" in the shot put.  Sam Roux, Rachel Turer, and Avery Brochu took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the 800 meters run and are in the TE Top 10 for their times!  Overall, an amazing day.  They have one last regular season meet today at SWHS against Ellington.  Good luck ladies!!!

Meg Doherty took to the mound and battled through the first inning.  She fought each batter, pitch after pitch, but Sage Park was able to open up a big lead. In the 3rd, Hailey Olints was able to get on base and score off Doherty's double, which was the first run of the game for TE. Olivia Doran was also able to get on base in each of her at-bats. • The TE softball team traveled to East Hartford on Tuesday. And with their excellent base running abilities, they were also able to score the first two runs of the game in the 3rd. Doherty would continue to quiet the bats of East Hartford. And TE began to tip the scales in the favor by being extremely patient at the plate; their patience loaded the bases several times in the fifth.  Oliva Doran would have the biggest hit of the game driving in two runs off a double and sealing the win for TE. The final score was TE 14 - East Hartford 3.  Doherty is 3 and 0 on the season and the softball team's record is 3 - 2. Congrats on a great win!  All the Cougars played extremely well. Go Cougars!

  • During the month of May, we honor our Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities.  From helping build the first transcontinental railroad to protecting the nation during times of war, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs) have played significant roles in shaping modern history.  As we continue to build a culture of unity at TE, it is important to focus on recognizing the contributions of the AAPI and consider how we, as individuals can foster unity and inclusion for all!

  • The girl's softball team hosted Ellington Middle School on Thursday. Meghan Doherty took the mound and had a shaky first inning, but found her strength and command to keep TE in the game.  The Cougars battled back in the first inning- being patience at the plate, which allowed TE to get on base and take advantage of some excellent base running to take the lead.  Doherty was also an offensive nightmare for Ellington, crushing the ball at her at-bats, and getting her first triple of the season. TE was able to use that momentum to add runs and pull away with the win. Other notable moments: Reese Pellerin had a great at-bat in the final inning; Hailey Olints had her first hit of the season. Congrats to all the Cougars on a well-played game. It was really fun watching you play. The Cougars are away next Tuesday against East Hartford. Go Cougars!

  • On Thursday afternoon the TE baseball team defeated Ellington by a score of 9 to 3.  The pitching trio of Robbie Wunsch, Chris Strout and Sammy Balducci were solid in the win.  They scattered 7 hits and struck out 9 batters while only allowing one earned run in the game.  On the season, the TE pitching staff has only given up 7 earned runs in their 4 games and has a team 1.88 earned run average.  They have struck out 40 batters in the first four games of the season.  At the plate, the bats came alive yet again as the Cougars pounded out 11 hits.  Leading the way was Drew Dargati with 3 hits and 2 RBI. Robbie Wunsch and Jacob Gombotz added 2 hits apiece. TE's record improves to 3 wins and 1 loss on the season.   The next game is at East Hartford on Tuesday afternoon.

  • The TE baseball team played at Rotary Field on Monday in front of an estimated crowd of 125 cheering fans.  The Cougars did not disappoint as they defeated JFK by a score of 9 to 1.  Once again pitching was the name of the game.  Jake Palombizio, Brayden Edwards and Sam Balducci limited the Patriots to just 3 hits while striking out 11.  Edwards picked up his second win of the season.  In the first 3 games of the season, TE pitchers have only allowed 6 runs total. Offensively, Balducci had a single, a bases clearing double and 3 RBI.  Ethan Burke added a double and 2 singles and Edwards chipped in with 2 singles and an RBI.  Drew Dargati, Robbie Wunsch and Ben Albert had a single each for the Cougars.  The win pushes TE's record to 2 and 1 on the season.  The next game is Thursday at Ellington.

  • The girls' softball team was away on Tuesday against Enfield's JFK. JFK would strike first, going up two runs in the first inning. But, the Cougars were not only led by Alexis Nisyrios on the mound but also at the plate. Nisyrios drove in Brianna LaGare in the fourth to score TE's first run of the game, as TE tried to get some momentum going on the offensive end. From the mound, Nisyrios was supported with some excellent defensive plays from Meghan Doherty, Angie Mundo, and Taylor Kehoe at first base. The Cougars had a late rally in the seventh, but JFK would quiet their bats in the end. The final score was JFK 5 - TE 1. The Cougars have their first home game on Thursday against Ellington this week.  Please come and support!

  • The Boys Track Team hosted East Hartford on Monday for their first home meet of the season.  Although EH had a depleted squad, the TEMS boys came out strong with many solid individual and group performances, defeating East Hartford 83-22.  Kyden Merlin swept all of his events, winning the 100, 200, 400 and 4x100 relay with Mathias Baidoo, Sonit Shah, and Trestan Calloway.  Sonit Shah also placed second in the 400 meter sprint.  Stewart Christophel, Blake Wool, and Colton Flaherty swept the 1600 meter run. Nivaen Giritharan placed first in the 800.  Naol Tirfessa placed 2nd in the 55m hurdles.  Jacob Pflederer and Makai Payne earned 1st and 2nd in the Discus.  While Mahki Henderson and Matthew Habeeb placed 2nd and 3rd in the Long Jump. There were many other great performances from the team, too many to list.  The Boys Track Team will head to Tolland next Friday, May 21st, for their next meet.  Go Cougars!!!

  • Congratulations to our TEMS Cougar Girls Track Team on their second victory of the season!  The girls dominated the meet against East Hartford with a final score of 103-2.  While there were many standouts from the meet, three girls did so well that they broke into the Timothy Edwards Top 10 All-time Record Book. Congrats to Susan Otaluka, who now holds our TEMS ALL Time Record title for her 200 meters run with a time of 26.35 seconds.  Not only that, but Susan now is in 3rd place in the 100 meters run with a time of 12.81 seconds.  In addition to Susan, Isabella Carpenter and Rachel Turer are now in the record book for their outstanding 800-meter runs.  Isabella is now 4th in the record book with a time of 2 minutes and 36 seconds while Rachel holds the 9th place spot. Congrats to all of the girls throughout the day!
