  • The girls cross country team won their meet against some speedy Ellington competition last night with a final score of 25 to 34.  Shout out to 7th graders Rachel Matyschsyk and Natalie Czop who finished within one second of each other in 9th and 10th effectively holding back Ellington's 4th and 5th runners.  Many of our 6th grade runners had outstanding races and moved up in the team standings including Jozie Waniewski, Yuna Kasunic, and Vikruthya Hariharan.  Congrats to all runners on a great race!  The Cougars look forward to their away meet in Windsor on Tuesday.  Good luck, team!
  • The boys cross country team travelled to Ellington on Tuesday afternoon and despite running fast times on the hilly course, they took their first loss of the season 20 to 36.  Stewart Christophel and Blake Wool were the top 2 TE runners, both breaking 13 minutes for the 2 mile course.  Robert Valen and Griffin Satalino looked very strong as they ran to top 10 finishes, and Karthik Prem showed his perseverance as he out-kicked an Ellington runner in the last few strides.  The Cougars travel to Windsor next Tuesday as they try for another victory against Sage Park.
  • The lady Cougars Soccer team kicked off against Ellington in a challenging match. Throughout the first half, the Cougars created a number of chances from Mia Ruiz and Amanda Marques. Forwards Analyse McKenna and Bella Ambooken created a lot of problems for the Ellington back four as the girls pushed forward. However Ellington was able to put two in before half. Down two goals, the team refocused and went on the attack. Maddie Edwards, Rebecca Koshy, and Abby Ambooken threaded balls forward as the Cougars pushed into their opponents box. The Cougars put in shot after shot with near goals chances from Gianna DiSalvatore and Shea Brochu, as well as a great chance from a free kick from Gabby DiSalvatore. However, late in the second half, the goals began to fall. Kylah Wood swung in a cross to find a foot of Ari Rosario and the fans lit up with excitement. With only 4 minutes left to play, Lilly “Jaws” Jaworski swerved a cross in the box to find the foot of Maeve Verzella to bring the game to a draw. Score 2-2!
  • The TE Boys soccer team hosted Ellington last night with their first home game in over three weeks.  The game was back and forth initially, though neither team were able to break through.  Naol Tirfessa was dangerous and missed a couple close chances, but that's all the Cougars were able to muster in the first half.  Unfortunately, the Wildcats capitalized on a Cougar error and were up 1-0 at the end of the first frame.  The second half didn't go much better for the Cougars as Ellington were able to tack on three more goals.  One bright spot for the Cougars was the penalty scored by Riley Lyons after Doug Quiuqui was taken down in the box.  After a funny placement of the ball, Lyons finished it nicely.  Final score was Ellington - 4, TE - 1.  Next up, the Cougars take on Illing away in Manchester on Thursday.
  • Attention all writers, editors, and fans of herbal tea!  The first weekly meeting of the “Out of the Blue” literary magazine staff will be after school on Wednesday, October 13th in room 280.  To get to room 280, go to guidance and take a left down the hall, all the way to the glass door.  If you are interested, join the Google Classroom using code: uwknlnc.  If you have any questions, concerns, or general grievances, email Mr. Meyer.  Hope to see you there!

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Friday October 1st and it's World Smile Day!
  • Students needing a late bus for after school activities need to sign up in their Google home room.  Please be sure to sign up only on the day you need the bus.
  • The boys cross country team opened their competitive season on Wednesday afternoon and were able to pick up 2 victories in the tri meet.  The bus may have been slow picking the team up for the ride to Nevers Park, but the nice and cool weather had the boys running fast as they beat East Hartford 15 to 50 and took down Sage Park 24 to 35. Stewart Christophel took the overall victory in the race with Matthew Habeeb and Evan West both finishing in the top 5.  Erik Edstrom ran a very strong race to place 13th and Alex Larmand showed his finishing kick by holding off 2 Sage Park runners for the top 20 finish. The Cougars will be back in action next Tuesday when they line up against Ellington.
  • The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team played Sage Park last night in Windsor. Unfortunately, the score finished 0-0 as neither team was able to break the deadlock. There were several chances on both teams not taken and goals were still hard to come by. Hopefully things will change for them when they take on Ellington in their next game On Tuesday after school.
  • The field hockey team played their first game of the season against a very strong Suffield team and came away with a 2-0 loss.  Strong play came from Avery Brochu at mid along with Vanessa Liegl and Jillin Yelle on the forward line.  Taylor Zanelli and Grace Perkins were strong on defense with Elsa Gately making a career high of 15 saves. In the second game Kendall Woods, Morgan Syme, Carly Jarvis, all played well with Tatiana Winful coming away with 2 saves in goal. TE travels to Granby on Monday Oct. 4th.  Thanks to all who came out and supported the team.
  •  Attention anyone interested in the Yearbook Club: Our first meeting will be on Thursday, October 7th in room 123, after school. Our first order of business will be to vote on the design for the cover of the 2022 TEMS Yearbook! Hope to see you there!

  • Congratulations to the girls cross country team on winning their first official meet Wednesday night.  The girls ran away with 2 victories at the tri-meet with a perfect score of 15-50 against both East Hartford and Windsor.  The secret to success was strong teamwork during the race as many pushed a little harder by running with a teammate.  Taking first in the race was Lavanya Rathore in a time of 15:25 on the 2 mile course followed closely by Izzy Carpenter in 2nd overall within a fraction of a second.  A job well done to Akithmi Koththigoda, the only 6th grader to break into the top 7 finishers.  Also looking strong was Jewel Jones and Erin Fang who moved up several spots within the team rankings.  The Cougars look forward to their next home meet this Tuesday against Ellington.  Good luck team!
  • Attention 7th and 8th Grade Band members that have Mr. Marci for instrumental lessons today; please remain in your Encore class today as you will not need to come to the band room for lessons.  Please note, this ONLY applies to 7th and 8th Grade Band members.

  • The TE boys soccer team traveled to Enfield last night to take on the JFK patriots in a CRAL match up. The two teams battled back-and-forth with TE taking the lead midway through the first half. Chris Maio slid home a nice feed from Junior Heredia to put the cougars on top. The second half, with the wind in their faces, proved to be more of a challenge for the Cougars. The Patriots continued to press and their efforts allowed them to score a goal midway through the second half. The two teams battled back and forth the remainder of the half but no one could put one away. Fran Linares made a timely save with about 5 minutes left to keep the game level.  The Cougars play next Tuesday against East Hartford away.
  • The Lady Cougars kicked off against JFK for a 1-1 draw yesterday afternoon. JFK found the back of the net early, but the Cougar defense held strong with great effort from Gabby Salvatore, Evelyn Castro, and Jenna Martin. The ladies rallied back in the second half with a corner kick from Kylah Wood that found the leg of Teagan Purcell to tie up the game. Throughout the match, outstanding performance from Pratheeka Dyava, Hailey Olints, and Madeline Edwards as they helped secure the draw. Overall, a strong performance from the team as they maintain their undefeated record.
