  • Hey, Entertainers cast: Check Google Classroom by Sunday to make sure you are in an audition group on your grade's audition day: Monday for 6th grade, Wednesday for 7th grade, and Thursday for 8th grade. Let Mrs. Leveille know if there are any problems. We hope you've started preparing materials posted on Google Classroom for you to show us what you can do at your audition. See you next week!
  • Attention, TE writers! This is it—the final week to join the journey to writing greatness. Don’t miss your chance to be part of the Connecticut Writing Project. If you love creating stories, writing poetry, or letting your imagination run wild, now’s your last call to sign up and join.   • December 10th is the next Tuesday at the Teen Center!  We will provide transportation but we only have 19 seats on the bus.  You MUST register!  If you do not register by the Monday evening before each Tuesday we cannot guarantee that there will be a space for you on the bus.  You can always be dropped off at the Teen Center by a parent or guardian.  The hours are 3-5:30pm.  Your parent or guardian must come inside the building to pick you up and sign you out.  Here is the link https://bit.ly/3OE9PCw

  • Student council is excited to announce another TEMS spirt week the week before the holiday break Dec 16-20th. Monday is winter wonderland whiteout. Tuesday is wear your favorite holiday headwear or crazy socks. Wednesday is dress as your favorite winter movie character. Thursday is dress your best and Friday is ugly sweater day. We cannot wait to see all of your holiday spirit!

  • PTO is looking for student feedback about what types of events they'd like to see planned this year. Visit the TEMS PTO homepage to complete the form. 
  • Jump Start will be held today after school. Please bring all of your supplies to the cafeteria at the end of the day.
  • The Outdoor Education Club will be going skating at South Windsor Arena on Wednesday, December 18th from 3 to 4:45pm. Get your permission slips outside room 263 (Mrs. McAvoy's room in the Sage Hallway). This is a limited number event, so it's first come first served. This event will sell out! The cost is $18 which includes ice time and transportation.  Skates will be available to borrow for those in need. Any questions see Mrs. McAvoy or Mrs. Roy.

  • Let’s get festive! TEMS is starting a Winter Themed Door Decorating Contest beginning December 2nd.  Door decorations should reflect student collaboration, be winter themed, and aim to celebrate our incredible community. Important notes: Door decorating may begin on December 2nd. Door decorating will be judged on Wednesday, December 18th. Awards will be announced on Thursday, December 19th. All decorations must be removed before we leave for break. One homeroom from each grade and one encore class will be selected to win. Homeroom winners will win a movie with popcorn scheduled in January. Doors will be judged with a score of 1-5 on the following criteria: Creativity, Relevance to Theme, Effort and Teamwork and Completion of Display.

  • The Animal Lovers has Round 3 Results for everyone! Be sure to vote as this is the finale! Link to Vote. Animal Lovers and the Ruby Team needs your help to get donations for the Protector of Animals Shelter! Anything you have for a dog or cat is fine! If you have a spare toy, perfect! Even a tennis ball or food will work! All we need is your help, so please, please, please, help us out and make any sort of donation. We want to honor Naomi's memory in the best way possible! The drive ends right before Christmas Break. You can drop off any donations to Ms. Bynoe in Room 235 or Mrs. Rich on the Ruby Team. Any questions? Email [email protected]!   • On behalf of the CougarTHON Club, we are thrilled to announce the winners of this year's Penny Wars contest! After a week of spirited competition and enthusiastic fundraising efforts, the results are in:
    • 3rd Place: Scarlet Team with $150.91
    • 2nd Place: Ruby Team with $193.89
    • 1st Place: Emerald Team with  an impressive total of $360.89!

    The Emerald Team will enjoy a special reward of a movie in the auditorium as their prize! Overall, our school raised a fantastic $1,363.07 to help the children at Connecticut Children's Hospital. A huge thank you to all the participants for their generosity. Your contributions will make a significant difference in the lives of children. Our next fundraiser begins next week, where we will be collecting for a school-wide PJ Day! Stay tuned for more details at the end of the week! Congratulations to our top teams and everyone who participated!

  • Congratulations to all of our students on winning a $25 Amazon Gift Card! This year’s fundraiser was such a blast, and thanks to everyone’s amazing efforts, we exceeded our goal! Because of your hard work, the PTO was able to add 7 Amazon Gift cards to raffle off. Way to go, everyone! The following students may pick up your gift cards in the office! Gabriel Rodriguez, Dante Corticelli,  Hannah Williams,  Kadence Ranger,  Jackson Lydecker,  Lani Salimando,  and Isabelle Cushing.

  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Monday, November 25.
  • This year’s fundraiser was such a blast, and thanks to everyone’s amazing efforts, we exceeded our goal! Because of your hard work, the PTO was able to add 24 Dairy Queen Gift cards to raffle off. Way to go, everyone! Don’t forget today is the Slime Showdown! Here’s the sliming schedule:
    • Grade 6: Mr. Clifton gets slimed during their lunch wave.
    • Grade 7: Principal Irwin will be slimed during lunch.
    • Grade 8: Students who raised $350 or more will have the honor of sliming Officer Owens!

    All the sliming fun will be recorded and shared with all students at a later date. Get ready for a messy and memorable day! Congratulations to all of our students on winning a $10 Gift Card to Dairy Queen! The following students can pick up your Gift Cards in the Office!   •  Congratulations to the four FIRST Lego League teams that competed this weekend in their Lego League Qualifier in Wolcott, Connecticut. Teams worked hard to design and build robots to compete in a game called Submerged. The teams that competed were the Lego Kougars, Robo Divers, Titanic Sharks and the South Windsor Seals. The Lego Kougars won the judges award and are officially qualified for the state tournament that will be held on December 14th. If you see Sanjay V, Sailesh V, Kavin E, Sai T, Aadhya K, Krithik V, Advik S, Dip R or Anumitha V make sure you congratulate them.

All players must have a ride home at 4:00. 
  • Boys Basketball tryouts will take place on November 26 and December 4 immediately after school until 4 pm. Please be sure to have all paperwork updated and in the office in order to participate in tryouts.  Also be sure to have ride home for 4:00 or make arrangements for the late bus. More information can be found on the TE Athletics webpage.

  • Hey Entertainers! It was so awesome to see such an excited group of students interested in participating in this year's production of Moana, Jr.! If you weren't able to make it, you can pick up an info packet from Mrs. Leveille, or just join the Google classroom with code j4rl5oy. Remember, all sign ups and payment are due to Mrs. Leveille or Ms. Carver by Monday, so make sure to review the materials with your adults at home and submit your sign up form soon!
  • Tonight is the night Join us for Music Bingo hosted by Wild Blooms Entertainment! Doors open at 6:00 PM We have prizes for every round winner. Special giveaways like Homework Passes and lunch in the Courtyard with 3 friends. We will have raffles and concessions available for cash only. Still need tickets? No problem! Get yours at www.swtemspto.org or you can purchase at the door. This event is a fun way for the PTO to give back to our amazing students!   • Slime Showdown Announcement!! The results are in, and it’s time to reveal the students who will get to slime their favorite school leaders!

  • New Chromebook Help Desk Hours will begin after Thanksgiving Break.  The new hours will be Monday-Friday from 7:45am-12:00pm. If you borrowed a Chromebook, please continue to return the device to the Help Desk at the end of the day.
  • TE's LGBTQ+ club, SAGA, will meet today after school in Room 145, right after dismissal. If you can't make it today, don't worry—there will be two meetings in December! Check the flyers posted around school for the upcoming dates. If you have any questions about the club, feel free to reach out to Ms. Carver or Mrs. Reed. We hope to see you there this afternoon!

  •  Our CougarTHON fundraiser, Penny Wars, is well underway! But remember, this isn't your typical penny war—this time, we’re encouraging all types of donations, including change and bills! Let’s rally together to raise funds for a fantastic cause - supporting the children at Connecticut Children's Hospital. The team that collects the most money will win a special movie screening in the auditorium. Remember, together we will change kids' health. Together, we can change the future! The last date for donations is Friday, November 22nd, so let’s make every penny count! 
  • Girls basketball tryouts will be held on Monday, November 25th from 2:45- 4:00; Monday, December 2nd from 2:45 - 4:00 and December 9th, if necessary again from 2:45 - 4:00.  All paperwork must be completed prior to the tryouts dates.  No Exceptions.  All tryouts will be in the main gym.  Please wear comfortable clothing and basketball shoes (or sneakers). All players must have a ride home at 4:00. 
  • Boys Basketball tryouts will take place on November 26 and December 4 immediately after school until 4 pm. Please be sure to have all paperwork updated and in the office in order to participate in tryouts.  Also be sure to have ride home for 4:00 or make arrangements for the late bus. More information can be found on the TE Athletics webpage.
  • Cheerleading tryouts will take place on December 2nd and December 4th.  It is important for all students to attend on Monday to learn the tryout material in order to be eligible for Wednesday's tryout. If any students have conflicts or concerns, please direct them to see Mrs. Edwards in room 302.
