TETV News is excited to announce that in the coming weeks we will be transitioning to Live student news broadcasts from our very own news studio. Students will have the opportunity to read the news broadcasts, and also run the behind the scenes of the studio. If you are interested in participating, please fill out this Google Form Any questions see Mr. Goric.

Do you like to workout or are you interested in learning more about it? If so, you should join the fitness club. This is held after school here at TE on Monday's and Thursday's starting on September 19th. If you are interested in signing up, go to the South Windsor Recreation Department website or see Mrs. Giaccone in the main gym with any questions. You can also sign up right now for the Winter session too!

Attention field hockey tryouts for today have been canceled. ALL girls will come to tryouts starting tomorrow. Make sure all forms including a doctors note is in or you WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TRYOUT. Many players are registered but have not handed in a Dr. Note. If you are not sure please see or contact Mrs. Custer via email.

- Welcome back to TETV News. Today is Friday, September 2.
- Attention all students interested in academic competition. STRYVE Learning will be holding an event tomorrow at Wapping school and you are invited. STRYVE Learning is a local non-profit organization which aims to bring free education and cultivate the talent and educational abilities inside every student, in 10+ different subjects from mathematics, science, computer science, geography, stocks & economics, language arts, history, and more. This program has been in existence for the last 3 summers. With the COVID-19 pandemic finally slowing down, they are hosting their first annual STRYVE National Competition, in-person this year. This event will feature competitions in all subjects taught, from math and science bowl to stocks, economics, and more. Register at StryveLearning.com
- Attention all athletes...the deadline to register for a fall sport is Friday, September 2nd. You will need to register through the parent portal and also bring in an updated physician statement. Your doctor has to sign this form and you cannot tryout without it.

- Boys and girls cross country tryouts will be held next Tuesday through Friday after school until 4. You must have all sports forms completed to tryout. Boys will meet outside the front of the building by common area B, and girls will meet outside by common area C. There are no late buses, so arrange for pickup at 4.
- Attention all students trying out for field hockey: Your sport forms are due by this Friday 9/2.!!! You will NOT be able to tryout without these forms and a doctor's note. All forms are on the TE athletic page. Tryouts will begin on Tuesday, September 6th for new players ONLY until 4:00. Returning players and new players will have tryouts Wednesday-Friday until 4:30. All players MUST have sneakers, water bottle, shin guards, and eye protection in order to tryout. Sticks will be available to borrow. Meet in the main gym after school. Players must arrange for a ride home at the end of each tryout. Any questions see Mrs. Custer.
- Attention all girls soccer players - girls soccer tryouts will take place next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All players must be properly equipped with shin guards, cleats, and a water bottle. All players should meet in the main gym on Tuesday, September 6th immediately after school. Come tryout for the team!

All registration information must be completed and turned in by Friday of this week. 6th grade boys will have tryouts on Tuesday and Wednesday immediately after school. 7th and 8th grade boys will be Thursday and Friday. Please meet in the main gym with water, shin guards and soccer shoes. Do not wear your soccer shoes in the building. You will be allowed to change in the locker room prior to tryouts. All players must have a ride at 4:00...no exceptions.

Players will not be allowed to tryout if any of your registration materials are missing - mainly the physician's statement. 6th grade will tryout on Tuesday and Wednesday after school. Please meet in the main gym with water, shin guards and soccer shoes. Do not wear your soccer shoes in the building. You will be allowed to change in the locker room prior to tryouts. All players must have a ride at 4:00...no exceptions. Please make arrangements to have a ride for 4:00. Again, 6th grade only for Tuesday and Wednesday. 7th and 8th grades will tryouts on Thursday and Friday. Please meet in the main gym with water, shin guards and soccer shoes. Do not wear your soccer shoes in the building. You will be allowed to change in the locker room prior to tryouts. - Welcome back to our final edition of TETV News this year. Today is Monday, June 20th, and its our last day of school!
- CONGRATULATIONS to Rachel Mathew who was named the winner of the Elizabeth Ridgway Discovery or Exploration in History Award, sponsored by the Library of Congress. Rachel received this special award on Saturday during the National History Day Awards Ceremony which was streamed LIVE. Rachel joined a few other TEMS History Day students and dozens of other Connecticut History Day participants at a 'Watch Party' at the Old State House in Hartford. Rachel received this award for her Research Paper titled "From Peru to Yale and Back Again: The Journey of Peruvian Machu Picchu Artifacts". Way to Go RACHEL!!!

If you are looking to learn more about softball or to improve your skills, you should sign up. This camp is being held July 11th through July 14th. - If you have yet to return your TE Library Books, please do so as soon as possible- they were all due on Tuesday, 6/7. If you are not sure if you have an overdue book, please check your Gmail account, as this is how students are now notified they have overdue books. Also, if you see any library books sitting in your classroom or in the hallway, please return them to the library media center. Current 6th and 7th graders who would like to check out TE library books over the summer will be able to do so on Monday, 6/13 to Wednesday 6/15 during regular school hours. In order to do so, please come to the LMC with your permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. I have copies of this permission slip in the library; you can come and see me for one, or print one off the main TE LMC page.
