• Welcome back to another edition of TETV Morning News. Today is Tuesday, October 15.

• Tomorrow, October 16th is Unity Day. We recognize this day as an opportunity to stand up for kindness and against bullying and mean spirited behavior. Please consider wearing orange in recognition of this day.

• October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and TE is honoring the month with a Pink Out! on Friday, October 18^th. Breast Cancer impact millions of families in the United States every year.  According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that over 300,000 women will be diagnosed with a form of breast cancer in 2024.  TE wants to help! Wear your best pink outfit to show your support for people going through this struggle and bring in a donation to your homeroom teacher, on Friday morning.  Donations will be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support breast cancer research. There may be surprises throughout the day for any student, staff member, or teacher who is caught positively pink-ing out during the day.  Show your Acceptance and Resilience by supporting this cause and let’s Pink Out! the place.

• SAGA will be hosting its first meeting this Thursday, October 17th. SAGA is a club where students belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and their Allies find support, social events, educational opportunities, games and activities, and belonging. SAGA is a space where all students feel welcome and to focus on ideas and activities that positively impact our school and community. All students are welcome! Again, SAGA's first meeting of the year is going to be this Thursday, October 17th, immediately following dismissal. Just head down to room 145 in the music hallway. Stay tuned for more information! • We are very excited to announce that the TE Library will be hosting its first ever Follett book e-Fair from Monday, October 14^th through Tuesday, October 29^th. Our school library will receive 20% of all proceeds; I’m looking forward to buying new books for our growing population of voracious readers with these funds. You and your parents or guardians can access the book e-Fair through this URL: book-efairs.follettcontent.com  Next enter the following code for our library: MK56L.  All of this information can be found on the TEMS Homepage and the TEMS Library Media Center Page. Please do not forget to check out the teacher wish lists!  This is a great opportunity to get a jump start on holiday shopping for TE teachers😊 When ordering books, please place your order under your homeroom teacher; this will help expedite the organizing and distributing of the books when they arrive. Please let Mrs. Longo know if you have any questions.  

• Are you a student interested in science and engineering? Science Olympiad may be for you! Science Olympiad is a state wide competition of over 20 different events involving labs, design challenges and knowledge tests. There are a few spots available for new members. If you are a self motivated learner with a growth mindset interested in Science Olympiad, please see your science or tech ed teacher to sign an interest sheet by Tuesday, Oct 15th.

• Are you a math whiz or just curious about numbers? Join MathCounts! We'll explore fascinating mathematical concepts, solve challenging problems, and have fun working together. Our meetings will be a great opportunity to connect with other students who share your passion for math and develop your problem-solving skills. Don't miss out! All students are welcome. We encourage you to bring your ideas and enthusiasm to our meetings. Join the Google Classroom using code gvy4bcf to fill out the sign up Google Form! First Meeting: Friday, October 25th at 7 AM in the cafeteria.

• The P.E. Department is offering another session of Badminton Intramurals after school from 2:40-4:05 beginning next Wednesday.  Sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesday starting on October 16th and will end on October 30th.  Late busses will be available if needed.  Any questions, please see one of the PE teachers.
