  • Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Tuesday November 9th.
  • This week we will recognize Veterans Day. We take this opportunity each year to thank and honor those that have served our country. This year students will have the opportunity to recognize Veterans Day in all Social Studies classes.  Additionally, the Social Studies Department has been able to record new interviews with Veterans in our community,  representatives from the Patriotic Commission and American Legion. These stories will be shared in class as well as other opportunities to learn about Veterans Day and the service and sacrifice of Veterans. Thank you to all Veterans for their service and sacrifice!
  • Don't forget tomorrow is spirit day. This week we will Show our patriotism and support our veterans by wearing red, white and blue, or anything that honors our Veterans! So be sure to wear your most patriotic outfits tomorrow.
  • The TEMS community is organizing a Thanksgiving Food Drive! Our hope is to provide a complete dinner basket for 20 South Windsor families to enjoy on Thanksgiving, so we need your help! Please bring in any of the following: canned fruits/vegetables, stuffing mix, mashed potatoes, pie crust mix/fillings, bread/dessert mixes or gravy by November 15th. Drop off boxes are at A, B and C  entrances.  You can also give a $1 donation to your homeroom teacher. Thank you very much for your generosity!

  • The boys cross country team wrapped up their season on Saturday with a strong showing at the State Meet at Wickham Park.  Stewart Christophel and Blake Wool finished in 45th and 49th place and both earned medals for being in the top 50 of over 1000 runners between all the boys races.  Evan West, Robert Valen, Matt Habeeb, Griffin Satalino and Daniel Guimond also ran well in the championship race to help the Cougars finish a very solid 15th out of 49 teams.  Erik Edstrom led the way for TE in the B race, finishing way up in 24th.  Jerry Zhu and Gagandeep Parasa also earned medals with top 50 finishes with many other South Windsor runners close behind running great races.  Congratulations to the team on a great season and thank you to Stewart, Blake, Daniel and Owen Jerr for strong leadership as the team captains.
  • The girls cross country team had an amazing finish to their season at the Middle School State Championship at Wickham Park on Saturday.  The Cougars finished in 7th of 48 teams across the state with strong showings in both the A and B races.  In the 2.3 mile A race, the top 7 TE runners ran close together, finishing within a minute and 12 seconds of each other.  Congrats to Lavanya and Izzy for each earning a medal as they finished top 50 in the state.  This team has real depth of strong runners, with Caroline, Rachel, Meghan, Akithmi, and Liv all in the top 135 of 325 of the fastest feet across Connecticut.  Natalie fearlessly led the 1.7 mile B race finishing in 8th of 247 runners.  Natalie, Sophia, Jozie, Ayla, and Olivia all finished top 50, for a record breaking 7 medals for the team.  TE showed no fear in the face of the uphill finish as they maintained their mantra "kill the hills".  Especially impressive was Jewel and Chiamaka who leaned into the hill and powered across the finish together.  Running well and showing great sportswomanship was Mallory, who despite coming back from a persistent injury, never let it dampen her spirits as she always showed great support for teammates.  Congratulations to all runners on an awesome season.
