- A huge congratulations to the girls cross country team on their victory against Tolland and St. James last night, completing their season with a perfect 6-0 record. Tolland, living up to their solid running reputation, was a challenge to defeat with 5 runners in the top ten trailing closely behind TE with a final score of 25-30. St. James put forth a great effort, but TE dominated with a score of 15-50. Looking strong for TE was Olivia Doran, who turned on her turbo powers as usual and killed it across the finish taking nearly 2 minutes off her best time. Frankie Germano also made a remarkable personal record by 2 minutes as she cruised through the finish. Kaashvi Bagga had her best race of the season running a smart, well-paced race as she worked with a teammate to meet her goal. Finally, taking an astounding 3 minutes and 24 seconds off her season best time was Jane Carty. Way to go, Jane! As a team, the Cougars took over 24 minutes off personal records in one single meet. Impressive work! The cross country teams look forward to their league meet Thursday at Charter Oak Park. Good luck to all runners!
- The boys cross country team finished off their regular season with a 4 and 2 record after a split of a tri meet on Thursday afternoon. Stewart Christophel led the Cougars, earning the overall victory, as TE took down St James 25 to 30 but fell to Tolland 31 to 26. Gavin Lippi, Nevin Joseph and Lucas Beaulieu all ran great races as they each took off over a minute and 20 seconds off their best home course times. The team is back in action next Thursday when they travel to Manchester for the league championship meet.

- The lady Cougars kicked off against JFK yesterday evening in a challenging match. The game was box to box in the first half as both sides presented chances on goal. In the second half, the Cougars did a much better job of causing problems with the JFK defense. However, despite all the handwork, the game was decided on a penalty kick in the final 10 minutes of the game giving JFK a 1-0 lead. The Cougars were strong with outstanding performances from the leaders of the team Gabby DiSalvatore, Ari Rosario, Amanda Marques, and Mia Ruiz. Thanks to all the girls for their outstanding work this season. The Lady Cougars end the season with a record of 5-1-3.

While Taylor Zanelli, Prithi Sahaasraprithi, Kendall Woods excelled in the backfield. TE travels to Enfield on Monday.
- The lady Cougars soccer team kicked off their last home vs. Tolland yesterday evening in a 2-2 draw. Tolland struck first finding the back of the net, but the Cougars were able to tie up score before half, as a brilliant cross from Mia Ruiz found the foot of Maeve Verzella who passed back to Ari Rosario for an easy finish. Throughout the end of the first, Gabby DiSalvatore, Arianna Flores, Evelyn Castro and Jenna Martin were strong in a back denying a handful of chances from Tolland. Outstanding midfield effort was had from Hailey Olints, Amanda Marques, and Teagan Purcell. In the second half, Tolland took the lead again only to be followed up from a brilliant corner kick in the final 2 minutes by Kylah Wood which was poked in over the goalie from Abby Ambooken. All around the team was resilient and dominated the game with their passing and creative runs. Finally, Hannah Kowalichik was strong between the posts tallying 9 saves on the day which was vital for the team in securing the draw. The Cougars face JFK this afternoon in their final game of the season.

- The lady Cougars matched up against East Hartford on Thursday and took away an 8-0 win. The Cougars were relentless in attack as the team pushed forward to secure an early lead. Goals on the day came from Annabel Ambooken, Gianna DiSalvatore, Mia Ruiz, Pratheeka Dyava, Abby Ambooken, Kylah Wood, and Maddie Edwards. A lot of firsts on the day as four players were able to tally their first TE goal. Assists were plentiful as Hailey Olints, Maeve Verzella, Lily Jaworski, Mia Ruiz, and Jenna Martin were all able to connect a pass for a goal. The Cougars played smart and we’re able to find space in behind demonstrating composure and patience in the final third. Nice job team!

Farmington dominated the first quarter making goalie Elsa Gately work tirelessly protecting the goal from 15 shots. Within minutes of the second quarter TE's mid field consisting of Avery Brochu, Abby Stricker, Reece Pellerin, and Fionna Downes came alive getting the ball to the speedy Jillian "Jelly" Yelle who started the scoring rampage. Vanessa Liegl had a beautiful assist to Yelle on the first goal with Kaliegh Aparo and Abby Stricker assisting Yelle's second goal. Midfielder Avery Brochu scored TE's third goal with an assist from Vanessa Leigl. Grace Perkins, Taylor Zanelli, and Prithi Suriyakumarr held Farmington's attack throughout the entire game. Tatiana Winful made two saves and TE's defense of Celeste Glaviano, Ainsley Deptula, Emma Davis once again held Farmington's shots from reaching the back of the net. Morgan Syme, Carly Jarvis, Anushka Praveenkumar played well in the mid field and on attack. TE's next game is Monday away at Granby.

- The girls cross country team maintained their undefeated status last night with another win against Sage Park of Windsor. With a score of 15-50, TE took the top 7 places in the race. This included Lavanya Rathore in 1st place, followed closely by Izzy Carpenter in 2nd. Not far behind in 3rd and 4th were Megan Foster and Olivia Stoner, who ran smart by running together during the race pushing one another. Clinching the final 3 spots attaining TE's perfect score were Caroline Cavanaugh, Rachel Matyschsyk, and Erin Fang. Great job to all runners! The Cougars are working to continue their winning streak at their final meet next Thursday against St. James and TE's toughest competitor, Tolland. Good luck TE!
- On a warm Tuesday afternoon in Windsor, the boys cross country team
improved their record to 3 and 1 with a strong win over Sage Park. Blake
Wool took off fast from the start and held strong throughout to secure the
overall victory. Karthik Srikumar showed off some toughness as he
outsprinted a Sage Park runner to crack the top 6 in the race and 5th for the
team. Jerry Zhu ran well to earn a spot in the top 10 and Akilan Anand
worked hard for his best finish of the season in 13th. The Cougars return
to action next Thursday when they host Tolland and St James at Nevers Park.
- The TEMS lady Cougars kicked off against Sage Park taking another victory - winning 6-0. Lilly Jaworski found the back on the net early in the first half with an assist from Maeve Verzella. However, throughout the remainder of the first, the Cougars couldn't seem to add to their tally despite great distribution from Kylah Wood and Hailey Olints. However at half, the Cougars refocused and went on the attack with some exceptional wing play and a barrage of crosses into the box. Lilly Jaworski stunned fans as she slotted in another 3 goals on the day with a range of assists coming from Gabby DiSalvatore, Gianna DiSalvatore, and Teagan Purcell. The Cougar midfield dominated the center of the park with outstanding athletic contributions from Rebecca Koshy, Maddie Edwards, and Pratheeka Dyava. Rounding out the score sheet was Gianna DiSalvatore who finished with 1 goal and 2 assists on the day, Mia Ruiz tallied an assist, and Maeve Verzella who was able to find her goal late in the game to conclude the match. Cougars are at East Hartford on Thursday.
- The Boys soccer team played Sage Park of Windsor last night and unfortunately fell to the Chargers by the score of 3-1. Cody Boehm had the lone goal, which cam in the first half, off an assist from Austin Heath. The balance of play was in Sage Park's favor for most of the game after that. The Chargers scored three times, one before half and two after the intermission. Speed, aggression and desire physicality was what set the two teams apart. Strong efforts from Dalton Crane and Bailey Baker helped thwart much of the Charger attack. The Cougars play host to East Hartford on Thursday and will be looking to get back on the front foot going forward.

- Welcome back to another edition of TETV News. Today is Friday October 8th.
- This Monday, October 11th, 2021, we will be celebrating Indigenous People’s Day in South Windsor for the very first time! This is a day to observe, to reflect, and to connect through learning about the rich history of Indigenous Peoples that lived on, and protected, this land for many years before colonization. As part of this celebration we would like to start today with a land acknowledgement. A land acknowledgement is a formal statement that recognizes and respects Indigenous Peoples as traditional stewards of the lands we live on. The rich, fertile soil of the flood-prone South Windsor meadows was the summer home of the Podunks, and used for thousands of years for agriculture, just as the meadows are still largely used today. We thank them for their strength and resilience in protecting this land, and aspire to uphold our responsibilities according to their example. We will continue to honor the past, present, and futures of Native peoples as we approach Native American History Month which begins on November 1st. You can look forward to more stories and history throughout the entire month.
- The Timothy Edwards boys soccer team traveled to Manchester last night to take on Illing. In another border war, the Cougars came out on top with a score line of 6-0. Cody Boehm led off the scoring with a tidy finish. Bailey Baker slipped Boehm in behind the defense and the finish was tucked in past the Keeper. Boehm struck again shortly thereafter off a feed from Riley Lyons. Tenacity got Austin Heath on the books as he hustled to get in the end of a Jaxson Hills header. Andrew Butryman finished a pass from Riley Lyons header with his weaker foot to make it 4-0. Lyons wasn’t finished with his contributions as he slotted home a pass from his identical twin brother Blake Lyons. The final tally on the night was Riley Lyons again and it was the best goal of the night. He calmly took the ball out of the air, and before it hit the ground, he smashed it home into the top right hand corner. “A classic finish indeed,” coach Chandler added. The Cougars play at home against sage park on Tuesday after school @ 3:45.
- The lady Cougars walked away with another win vs. Illing yesterday afternoon. The Cougars dominated possession throughout the entire game with over 30 shots on the game. Lilly "Jaws" Jaworski found the back of the net three times on the day, with assists coming from the Amanda Marques connection, Hailey Olints, and Mia Ruiz. Following up, Pratheeka Dyava was also able to log her first Cougar goal! In the second half, Shea Brochu, Gianna DiSalvatore, and Analyse Mckenna all joined in with goals of their own. However, the goal of the match goes to Gabby DiSalvatore who unleashed a missile from over 25 yards out sending the fans into a frenzy. However, it all would not have been possible without the exceptional composure from Jenna Martin and Evelyn Castro who displayed composure and patience in the back. The Cougars kick off next week vs Sage Park on Tuesday.
