Greetings Whitman community. Hope everyone's day is going great so far. My name is John Adams, a current senior at Whitman, and I am proud to say that I will be working with our very own Wildcat Pantry to host a Food Drive this spring, the week of April 15th. In recent years, food insecurity has become a widespread issue in various parts of our community due to rapid increases in both inflation and shrinkflation. Due to this I am asking for our strong and generous Whitman community to take some time out of their day in order to carry out a simple, yet powerful act of kindness by going to your local grocery store and buying food to donate. You’d be surprised on how much of an impact you’ll make even spending just $20 on food to support this excellent cause. Throughout the duration of the drive, we are looking mainly for donations of nonperishables such as canned soups, vegetables, fruit, and boxes of cereal and pasta. Donations will be happily accepted before, during, and after school in either the Main Office, Guidance, or rooms 528/532 (Leadership rooms) from Monday, April 15th to Friday, April 19th.
If there are any questions or concerns pertaining to the drive, please do not hesitate and feel free to reach out to the main office at (631)812-3800. Ultimately, I anticipate you all taking part in this terrific event to benefit our community, otherwise I wish you all a safe and magnificent day.
