Walt Whitman SAT Review Sessions - Winter 2024

Classes are taught by Whitman teachers and will be held in the afternoons (2:30pm - 4:00pm). Ideally, participating students should attend ALL EIGHT sessions but students are permitted to attend sessions at their convenience should they need to work around other commitments. Registration forms available in the counseling center.

Project Excel SAT Prep

An 8 Week intensive SAT Prep course! Free for High school students from the Township of Huntington. The prep course will highlight each topic in the SAT, test taking strategies, study skills, and test stress relief. Hosted by Project Excel at the Huntington Youth Bureau. Wilson Tech SAT Prep Course (for Wilson Tech Students)

Wilson Tech students are eligible for a FREE six-week course, taught by NYS certified instructors, to help them prepare for the SAT. Classes are held at the Dix Hills campus and transportation is available.

STEP Virtual Saturday Academy at Farmingdale College

STEP Saturday Academy is a FREE University program that provides academic support services and enrichment activities to historically underrepresented or economically disadvantaged students in grade 7-12. 

The program will be conducted on 4 Saturdays through Farmingdale State College. All participants must submit this permission slip before the designated deadline along with a copy of the student’s most recent report card. Any student who is new to STEP will also be required to complete a program application and provide a copy of immunization records

SAT/ACT Math and English- Test preparation for reading, writing, and math sections for high school students planning to take these exams in the fall or late spring. **Only students in grades 10-12**

SCOPE, Long Island’s leading education services provider, is providing SAT Prep courses for the students of South Huntington School District. Whitman's Low Cost Kaplan Test Prep Program - $199.00

This comprehensive 20-session series will be delivered by Whitman teachers who have been specifically trained to administer the Kaplan Test Prep Program. The cost includes program materials. Saturday sessions will offer students opportunities to take and analyze practice exams. Weekday sessions will provide students with a wealth of content and test-taking strategies in both English and Mathematics. Please see attached flyer for further details, dates, and application.

South Huntington Public Library low cost program - $160

South Huntington Library is offering a twelve-hour SAT Prep course. Eight two-hour classes will be held at the library on Mondays & Wednesdays from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm. Half of the classes prepare the students for the Mathematics sections on the SAT and the other half prepare the students for the Reading and Writing & Language sections of the exam. The cost is $160 per student (due at registration) and includes a copy of College Board's SAT Preparation guide. No refunds unless we can replace your spot.

Registration begins March 21 for SHPL cardholders only. All others may register March 31. Space is limited

Northport Public Library low cost program - $120

Northport Library is offering a ten-hour SAT Prep course. Classes will be held at the library on a Wednesday & Thursdays (March 29, April 20, 27, May 4, 2023) from 6:15 pm – 8:45 pm. The cost is $120 per student (due within three days of registration).
