Lambertville Public Elementary School (PreK-6)
Lambertville Public School is a small school with a close-knit community that is completely invested in our students' education. Located on the southern end of Hunterdon County, the Lambertville community is full of unique artistic talents and skill sets as well as a variety of businesses that often support and invite our students to learn from them. In addition, our school is a diverse group of learners both academically as well as culturally.
Our school sets high standards for students and allows them to meet their full potential through differentiating instruction and providing supports where needed while also enriching students to go above and beyond. Our standardized test scores demonstrate that students do well and make progress. We are always open to new students joining our school community and we welcome them.

West Amwell Township Elementary School (K-6)
West Amwell Township Elementary School is a Kindergarten through Sixth Grade Elementary School located in the southernmost part of Hunterdon County. The administration and staff at West Amwell Elementary School set high expectations for academic achievement. Our teachers work closely with parents, classroom paraprofessionals and support staff to ensure a well-rounded, standards-based educational experience for each of the students in our care. We celebrate each individual’s uniqueness and challenge all to reach their highest potential. These efforts affirm the belief that all of our students will become self-sufficient, passionate, productive members of 21st Century society.
Our students receive instruction in Spanish, library, STEM, music, art, health, and physical education. They may also choose to take part in our instrumental music program or participate in our chorus. Additionally, supplemental instruction is provided for students who need assistance in basic skills, multi-sensory reading instruction or speech. We also have a combination of resource room and in-class support services designed to support students with special needs. Furthermore, we offer enrichment programs that are intended to provide our students with access to a wide variety of rigorous and creative learning experiences beyond those expected to take place in the general classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What makes your school district unique?
We are known for our small rural regional schools that offer quality programs for our students. Our three school building district offers a PreK-12 schooling experience for students with only one school transfer (6th to 7th grade), which helps to create intimate learning communities. See individual school profiles for more information about each school.
|
I would like to find out more about your schools. How do I do this?
A good start is to check our website and the Department of Education for our School Report Cards. If you have additional questions, please contact the district.
|
Can anyone come to your schools as a Choice Student?
All New Jersey residents who live within 20 miles of our site are eligible to apply with resident district sponsored transportation or aid in lieu, provided we have room and a program in place. It is important to note that a completed application does not mean acceptance into our program. Visit the above NJ Interdistrict link to find out more or call the district's SHRSD Curriculum Center at (609)397-9311.
|
Does your district provide transportation?
Transportation is the responsibility of your resident district, unless a Choice school or district makes other arrangements. South Hunterdon Regional, our 7-12 grade middle/high school, currently provides one bus for students living south of Hunterdon County but no busing is provided for elementary students. If you live within 20 miles or less of the school, your sending district is required to either provide transportation for your child or give you “aid in lieu” money (about $1,000 per student), given at the end of the school year) in return for you providing transportation. Since the elementary schools have smaller numbers of Choice students, it is anticipated that your sending district will not provide a bus to these schools.
|
Does the district provide before/after-school care?
West Amwell Township Elementary School has before and aftercare available onsite that is offered by an outside vendor (independent of the school district). Lambertville Public Elementary School has before and aftercare services offered by outside vendors that many families choose to utilize independent of the school district.
|
Where do your elementary students go after sixth grade?
We have two elementary schools that go through sixth grade. Elementary students go to South Hunterdon Regional Middle/High School for grades 7-12. We are one Choice district.
|
I have missed the deadline, may I still apply?
Yes. Districts may continue to accept late applications and accept students, but may have limited availability. Therefore, it is likely that you will be put on a waiting list along with other applicants and would only be offered a seat should someone leave the program. You will need to reapply each year if you wish to stay on the waiting list.
|
How do I apply?
See the link above to complete our electronic application. It is recommended you keep a copy of the application and date submitted. To expedite the process, you should include copies of school records if your child has a current or pending IEP or 504 Plan or has needs that require a special program, since each school needs to determine if there is a program in place prior to processing an application. If your child is selected, you will receive a letter of intent from the district, which you will have to return to acknowledge your commitment.
