Some Veeder Elementary School parents and children met Mrs. Ripps at the Regional Food Bank for a tour and learned about the “behind the scenes” of what actually happens to the food that we donate. The Food Bank distributes 35 million pounds a year to 23 counties around New York. The children had the opportunity to step inside the freezer, refrigerator, get weighed on the giant scale, see the distribution center, learn about dented cans, expiration dates, ripped boxes and more. Please remember that our school Food Drive is will run November 6-17 this year. Thanks in advance to our PTA for helping with the Food Drive and Turkey Trot. Together, we can make a difference!
