Second graders in Mrs. Harriman’s class held a retirement party last week for someone very special to them — Ollie the therapy dog. Ollie has been working at Shaker Road Elementary School for the past eight years with his owner, Jackie Monger. Mrs. Monger has decided to retire this year and so must Ollie. The second graders decorated the classroom, make party hats and baked Ollie dog treats. The retirement party featured four dog themed stations including decorating cupcakes like paw prints, playing a doggy Bingo game and making cards for Ollie. Ollie was treated to a basket of goodies from the students. The students did chores to earn money to purchase the items. Mrs. Monger and Ollie will be missed by all!
