English as a New Language (ENL) students from Shaker Road Elementary School participated in the annual ENL Library Night in October. Students were able to enjoy a story time, engage in a fun craft project and boat making activity and get a tour of the different parts of the library. Parents were also given a tour of the adult section of the library and were provided valuable information regarding the resources available to them.
One of the highlights of the evening was the opportunity for so many parents to get library cards for themselves and their children. The students were very excited to show off their new cards and begin taking out books. There was a nice turnout for the event which hosted about 25 families. The evening was a great success and we wish to thank the William K. Sanford Colonie Town Library for helping us in putting on such a fun and engaging program for our students and families!
