Many thanks to Sofia Jarvis and her grandmother, Linda, for their help with Courtyard cleanup to prepare for Shaker Road Elementary School’s Open House on Thursday, Sept. 13.
Sofia and Linda gave up a good portion of their Saturday morning to pull weeds, straighten up flower boxes, rake up pine needles and generally do great work. The caterpillar pictured will become a Monarch butterfly after enjoying the milkweed plant where it is pictured. Pretty cool stuff!
Shaker Road’s Open House: The first session begins at 5:50 PM in the cafeteria for Kindergarten and Grade 1 families with an overview by Principal Dollard. There is a Special Area Fair in the library that overlaps the first and second sessions (6:20 – 7:00 PM). The second session begins at 6:50 PM in the cafeteria with another talk by Mr. Dollard for families of Grade 2-3-4 students. The Open House ends promptly at 8:00 PM and all parents with questions are welcome to see Mr. Dollard in the cafeteria. Please plan to join us!
