Mental Health & Wellness

Dear San Rafael City Schools Students, Parents & Staff,

As we all cope with school closures and the requirement to shelter-in-place, it is understandable that we all may experience a range of emotions including overwhelm, anxiety, sadness and many others, as we continue to navigate during this time of uncertainty. It is important to continue to take care of your physical health, as well as mental health! Please see an article here about some concrete tips to help you manage. Additionally, listed below are available community resources, available for all individuals. Some are clearly geared towards youth, but many are also available to adults. The majority of the mental health supports listed below are available 24/7, and are FREE

During this time the San Rafael City Schools' mental health team will also continue to do our best, to connect students and families to available resources in the community. If a student received weekly counseling sessions at the time your school was closed, we are in the process of continuing our efforts to connect with those students, to evaluate their interest in continuing virtual sessions. This week, the SRCS mental health team is evaluating their ability to take on new referrals for virtual counseling and we will share more information with the community about these services soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns or if you know someone who needs support during this challenging time by contacting: wellness@srcs.org. We check this email multiple times a day and will be back in touch within 1 business day. Please note: this is NOT a place to refer a student in crisis. If a student is in crisis please use resources below.
