  • NYS DMV Learner's Permit Testing


    Students are able to take their NYS Learner’s Permit test online here at Royalton-Hartland High School. Royalton-Hartland High School is NYS DMV-certified to offer on-site testing, free of charge.

    Students who are within two months of their 16th birthday and currently enrolled and in good standing at Royalton-Hartland High School are eligible. Note: ONLY Roy-Hart High School students are able to take this test. Students must be 16 years old in order to drive with the Learner's Permit.

    Manuals are available in the Library Media Center at no cost.

     

    TestingStudents must contact Ms. Cousins at kcousins@royhart.org to schedule testing. 

    Testing is available Monday-Friday, during regular school hours (7:30 am-2:30 pm) in the Royalton-Hartland High School Library Media Center.

    Students may schedule an appointment during their study hall or lunch period.  The test takes less than one period to complete.

    On the day of testing, students must bring their Chromebooks and one of the following forms of ID:

    RHCSD Student ID with photo or NYS DMV non-driver photo ID.

    The test is offered in English and Spanish and the results are immediate.  Students who do not pass can retake the test as many times as necessary.

     

    After Passing the Online Exam: Students will be given all of the paperwork needed to take to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles in order to apply for a Learner's Permit.
