This tournament had its 26th iteration, but it had stopped in 2018. Thanks to the efforts of dozens of Maggie Walker students, the tournament was revived.<\/p>\n<p>Timothy Porter (&#8217;24-Henrico), Katie Watson (&#8217;25-Chesterfield), and Brenden Stremler (&#8217;25-Chesterifeld) led the students in writing and editing questions, organizing the brackets, and hosting ten rounds of gameplay for seventeen teams from around the state. Devesh Kumar (&#8217;24-Henrico) compiled individual player stats and the robotics team helped 3D print the trophies for the winning teams from McLean and Lightridge High Schools.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that most tournaments rely on college students or actual adults to pull off a tournament at this scale, which is a feat very few high schools even attempt! Due to their efforts, the team raised money to travel to national tournaments at the end of the school year.
