Students in the Relevance Rising seminar<\/strong> welcomed preschoolers from the YMCA to MLWGS Thursday morning. \u00a0During\u00a0storytime in the library with Isabella and her guest dragon, there were many laughs, and Isabella kept the students involved by asking them to predict what might happen next in the story.<\/p>\n

When she read that the boy was taking his dragon swimming, one kid\u00a0remarked: \u201cDragons don\u2019t like water.\u201d And not fooled by any costume, another pointed to\u00a0our mascot\u00a0and said \u201cThat\u2019s not a dragon. That\u2019s a human.\u201d \u00a0The biggest laugh was when the boy and the dragon whistled and the boy ended up with smoldering spiky hair.<\/p>\n

After they finished storytime, our guests made dragon hand puppets with the art club and toured the school. \u00a0They remarked on how BIG everything looked. \u00a0When\u2019s the last time you visited your elementary school? \u00a0What did it look like there?<\/p>\n

Kudos to Relevance Rising and their teacher Stephanie Welles for a successful event.<\/p>\n
