For most people, when Maggie Walker is mentioned, brains rather than brawn comes to mind, but our students are making the mind-body connection again this year.\u00a0 Fall sports teams are making waves locally and sending ripples around the state.\u00a0 Our volleyball teams have spiked their way to regional tournament, and field hockey and girls and boys cross country teams will battle in state tournaments later this week.\u00a0 In addition we are proud that the Eliza Bellamy has been recognized as the Field Hockey conference player of the year and that Paige Hawkins has been named conference and region coach of the year.\u00a0 In terms of Cross Country, Khloe Pointer and Ryan Buscaglia have been named girls and boys regional runners of the year while Jim Holdren has been named coach of the year.\u00a0 Best of luck to the Dragon’s this week!<\/p>\n
On a less exciting but very important note, we are planning to host a Budget Town Hall meeting on 3 December 2014 from 6-7:30pm in the MLWGS auditorium.\u00a0 The purpose of the meeting is to capture input from our community regarding our FY16 budget.\u00a0 In response to a few questions I have received, the guidance below is offered.<\/p>\n
When considering fiscal priorities in schools, it is helpful organize thinking in conceptual clusters.\u00a0 Below are 4 such clusters that we use on a daily basis at MLWGS that have fiscal entailments.<\/p>\n
