{"id":17562,"date":"2014-03-28T09:45:47","date_gmt":"2014-03-28T13:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mlwgs.com\/?p=17562"},"modified":"2014-03-28T09:45:47","modified_gmt":"2014-03-28T13:45:47","slug":"urban-child-symposium-at-mlwgs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mlwgs.com\/urban-child-symposium-at-mlwgs\/","title":{"rendered":"Urban Child Symposium at MLWGS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Center for the Study of the Urban Child is hosting its second annual Urban Child Symposium where the aim is to continue to encourage collaborative discourse among critical stakeholders in the community and in addressing issues relevant that impact urban children from a multidisciplinary perspective, subsequently bridging the gap between research, policy, practice, and the urban community.<\/p>\n<p>Holding true to the Symposium&#8217;s theme, the Center will assemble academicians, practitioners, policy makers, advocates, religious leaders, community citizens, youth and other community stakeholders to dialogue about the current urban community issues that impact the academic, psychosocial, physical growth of urban youth.<\/p>\n<p>Embracing the philosophy that a whole is greater than the individual parts that make up that whole, this year\u2019s theme \u201cThe Whole Child is Greater than the Sum of Its Parts\u201d will focus on urban children and the multidisciplinary systems that influence and promote their development.
