In addition to this theme, students\u2019 interest in science, math, the arts, health and physical education, international language, or other academic areas may serve as the focal point for their understanding of the world and for their development as global citizens.&nbsp; Our slate of courses are offered at the minimum level of Honors and includes an expansive array of Plus Level, Advanced Placement, and University Dual-enrollment (Virginia Commonwealth University) options.&nbsp; Opportunities to develop and expand learning are present not only in the classroom but also through various programs and extracurricular activities sponsored across departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to course offerings specific to each discipline, general course offerings include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foundations of Independent Research and Communications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Economics and Personal Finance<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction to Programming<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Student Ambassador<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Course Catalog<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Maggie L. Walker Governor\u2019s School offers courses in all disciplines.&nbsp; While government and international studies are its themes, the comprehensive program at MLWGS allows a flexible approach for students to understand the growing inter-connectedness of the international community.&nbsp; In addition to government and international studies, students\u2019 interests in science, mathematics, the arts, international languages, or other academic areas may serve as focal points for their understanding of the world.
