For the past 6 weeks, Sunnyside kindergarten students have been working on a social studies unit called "Same and Different; We're all Superstars", which was just featured in the WSU Art for Social Change Showcase.
For the project, the students picked dolls that they felt represented themselves and then colored them to accurately describe their skin tone and eye color, as well as how they dress themselves. Their message was that it is okay to see that you and others are the same in one way, but also different in another way. Way to go Superstars!
