The New York State Education Department Office of Special Education has revised its Questions and Answers regarding Special Education State Complaint Procedures.  Information on the changes can be located at: https://www.nysed.gov/special-education/new-york-state-complaint-procedures.

Specific changes include the following items: 

• Question 13e <https://www.nysed.gov/special-education/new-york-state-complaint-procedures> was revised to clarify that, upon completion of the impartial hearing, if the issue(s) has not been addressed in the impartial hearing officer’s decision, NYSED will conduct a State complaint investigation unless the complainant withdraws the alleged violation.
