Seven join Junior Honor Society at Pine Valley
Seven of Pine Valley Jr./Sr. High School’s most outstanding freshmen and eighth-graders were celebrated in front of their families, peers and district faculty at the Junior Honor Society induction ceremony held Tuesday, March 25, 2025.
Freshmen Addison Lyndsley, Andres Morillas, and Landon Reger along with eighth-graders Megan Abbey, McKayla Ebel, Ashlynn Silleman, and Mark Smallback were recognized for their academic achievements as well as for demonstrating scholarship, character, service and leadership.
Following a welcome by Principal Kourtney Almeida, the Pledge of Allegiance was led by Junior Honor Society Inductee Mark Smallback.
Karley Ebel then provided an overview of the history of the Pine Valley chapter. JaKobe Howard, Bella Lilley, Lily Hohl, MJ Quinn, and Carlie Ward then gave an overview of the five pillars of scholarship, character, leadership, service and citizenship.
Ebel also led the new inductees in reciting the Junior Honor Society Pledge: “I pledge to uphold the high purpose of the Junior Honor Society to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands. I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of scholarship, service, leadership and character.”
After the ceremony ended a reception with cake and punch was held for Junior Honor Society members and their families.
The advisor is teacher Susan Zirkle.
