About 25 students from Jessup Elementary and Schneider Middle recently participated in the Houston Texans Play60 event with officers from the Houston Police Department's PAL program.
Students had the chance to show off their best dance moves, run football drills and have fun with the Texans rookie class.
The Houston Police Department PAL program recruits Houston area youth, ages 8-18 and adult volunteers to participate in athletic, educational and mentoring activities. Their goal is to reduce juvenile crime and violence through “Relational Policing” which includes building trusting relationships among youth, law enforcement and the community.
