The Dobie Theatre Department is turning the theater warehouse into a haunted house, which comes alive Oct. 26-27 from 7-9 p.m.
The entry fee is $5.
“It is going to be terrifying!” said theater vice president Stephanie Horton. “Kids 12 and under are required to have a parent with them.”
The theme for this years’ house is nightmares. The crew’s goal is to “bring out your deepest fear,” according to an anonymous member.
“Both the actors and technicians put a month of blood, sweat, and tears into this production,” said Horton. “We have around 55 students working.”
The whole project is under tight wraps, too. It was made clear that any member who spoils the surprises are to be removed from the crew.
The theater crew is also holding a quick costume contest for all those interested in participating for a “spooky surprise.”
Students appear to be ready for the event as well.
“I’m very excited. The thought of being surprised when something jumps out at you gets me jittery just thinking about it,” said Jeffrey Wilson.
“I’m going with friends, and we want to wear matching costumes.”
