Chevron Gears up to Help ‘Fuel Your School’ This Fall
Posted on 05/07/2014

Chevron has teamed up again with DonorsChoose.org, an online non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to help children, to provide teachers in all Harris County public schools with $1 million in classroom materials through their annual Fuel Your School program -- an innovative initiative that helps equip public school teachers with the supplies and resources needed for eligible classroom projects.

Beginning in September, teachers will have about a month to submit projects or materials that need funding – ranging from pencils to calculators and even ebooks – through DonorsChoose.org. After the submission deadline – to be announced this fall – the Fuel Your School program will donate up to $1 million when consumers purchase fuel at participating local Chevron stations in Harris County to help fund the classroom projects. Projects will be funded in the order they are received and posted on the DonorsChoose.org website.

Chevron encourages teachers to submit projects and materials pertaining to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education to spark student interest in advanced technical fields.

Check the Pasadena ISD website, Facebook and Twitter pages for more updates about the Fuel Your School program.

Since its inception in 2010, Fuel Your School has funded 17,000 classroom projects across the country and it continues to grow each year to reach additional communities.
