Pasadena ISD students received awards after competing in the region’s Scholastic Art and Writing Awards.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards is the oldest recognition program for artistic youth in the United States. Students in grades seventh through twelfth may participate in the competition and may choose to enter one piece or multiple pieces.
After the entries are evaluated by a panel of judges, awards are given out in the following classifications: Gold Key, Silver Key and Honorable Mention. Gold Key recipients will have their pieces advance to the national level of the competition to be evaluated by industry experts. National award winners will be announced in March 2021.
“Congratulations to all of the students who placed in this prestigious contest,” said Shannon Raygoza, Visual Art Curriculum Specialist for Pasadena ISD. “Thank you to the teachers who believed in these students and worked with them for endless hours. We are Pasadena proud.”
