Eight Pasadena ISD students qualify for state level art competition

Eight Pasadena ISD students have advanced to the state level Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE) after competing in the regional competition.

During the regional competition, students throughout the district competed against 1,200 students from area schools where they submitted original artwork, wrote about their processes and participated in an interview.
The student’s pieces were evaluated based on VASE’s rigorous rubric. Only students in the top 10 percent of the competition were selected as state-level qualifiers.

As state-level qualifiers, these students will have the opportunity to participate in workshops, become eligible for scholarships and speak with college recruiters.

State judging for VASE will take place in April 2021.
