The Texas education community has its eye on Beverly Hills Intermediate School. The campus was recently recognized as a ‘Texas School to Watch.’
This program is a partnership between the Texas Middle School Association and the National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades Reform. The Texas Schools to Watch program awards this prestigious honor to high-performing intermediate campuses that are academically excellent, developmentally responsive and socially equitable and have the organizational support to sustain students’ success.
Beverly Hills numbered among eight other schools selected as presenters for the national conference.
After reviewing the applications, a team of education professionals selected only a few campuses to receive site visits from Texas Schools to Watch teams.
The team visited Beverly Hills in January to evaluate their qualifications, observe classes and staff meetings and interview campus administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents, district leaders and community members.
The Pasadena school was honored and selected to give a presentation on “Effective School Structure: Systems Designed for Student Success” at the annual National Schools to Watch Conference in Washington, D.C. last month. The school will be showcased at the Texas Middle School Association Annual Conference & Exhibit in Galveston next year.
Beverly Hills Intermediate was among only 12 schools in Texas selected for the schools to watch program. For more information click here.
