Academic Adult Education Teachers
Academic Adult teachers may be assigned to teach adult learners in the following areas:
Adult Basic Education (ABE)

General Educational Development (GED)
|
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
|
Applied Academics for Adult Education (AAAE)
|
Teachers in high school courses must hold the appropriate State issued academic certification for the course(s) they are assigned to teach as listed in the Florida Course Code Directory and be in compliance with No Child Left Behind and Highly Qualified requirements.
Initial Certification Academic Adult
Candidates for full time Academic positions who do not hold a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or valid Statement of Eligibility (SOE) must complete an application on line with the Florida Department of Education (DOE), at www.fldoe.org. Eligibility will be determined by DOE using appropriate test scores and course work submitted on official transcripts displaying a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. The degree must have been completed at an accredited institution as specified in FAC 6A-4.003.
Initial Certifications Career and Technical Education (CTE) Vocational Teacher (Full Time, Degreed)
Candidates for full time degreed Career and Technical Education positions must hold a valid State of Florida teaching certificate or valid Statement of Eligibility (SOE). The subject area must be appropriate for the teaching position as listed in the State Curriculum Frameworks. To apply for your initial SOE an application should be completed on line with the Florida Department of Education (DOE), at www.fldoe.org. Eligibility will be determined by DOE using appropriate test scores and course work submitted on official transcripts displaying a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. The degree must have been completed at an accredited institution as specified in FAC 6A-4.003.
Initial Certifications Career and Technical Education (CTE) Vocational Teacher (Full Time, Non-degreed)
Candidates for full time non-degreed Career and Technical Education positions must meet eligibility requirements for a local District issued certificate. Occupational experience and credentials/licensure must be appropriate for the subject area and position applied for. The specific occupational subjects are listed in the State Curriculum Frameworks. Candidates who have applied to an online vacancy posting and are being considered for further review will be directed by the school administrator to submit an application for a District non-degreed certificate along with the required documentation of occupational experience, licensure, industry credential, official transcripts of training completed, and fee.
