Nourish to Flourish: March/April 2023

Growth Mindset Essential for Career Success

By Sandra Carr

OCPS’ Nourish to Flourish Wellness Boost encourages employees to live a healthy lifestyle by providing physical and mental health tips. For the March/April issue, Intelligent Change magazine provides information on how to cultivate and achieve a growth mindset

A growth mindset is the belief that your potential and talents are not limited, but can progress further over time.

Everyone experiences difficulties in life. However, by developing a growth mindset, you will view challenges as opportunities for advancement instead of failure at work or personally.

The Nourish to Flourish Wellness Boost is an OCPS Mental Health Commission incentive that was started by School Board Chair Teresa Jacobs in 2020. The group provides services to support the mental and emotional well-being of staff and students by collaborating with community stakeholders.

Each week during the school year, OCPS employees are randomly selected to receive a $25 wellness-boost gift card. The selected staff members choose how they want to nourish to flourish by using the reward to meet their cognitive, emotional, interpersonal, professional or spiritual needs.

Listed below are the January/February 2023 and March/April 2023 Nourish to Flourish Wellness Boost winners. View the staff photos in the Around OCPS photo gallery.
