A Funny Thing Happened - Dress-up
Seeing little ones in costume for Halloween recently reminded Lori McCroan of something that happened years ago when she was a paraprofessional.
One of the fifth-graders at Clarcona Elementary (now Prairie Lake Elementary) had earned a reward. He and other students were to be honored at an upcoming ceremony. The principal instructed teachers and staff to remind the recipients to “dress up” for the awards event.
McCroan shared with the student that the principal asked that he dress up for the ceremony. He asked with all sincerity, “What shall I come as?”
All these years later, McCroan still remembers that student fondly. She is in a different role and no longer works with our youngest learners. But she often wonders how that charming student and his classmates are doing today.
